• HALF A MILLION volunteers have participated in 40 Days for Life campaigns
• 15,000+ church congregations have participated in 40 Days for Life campaigns
• Reports document 5,045 lives that have been spared from abortion — and those are just the ones we know about
• 61 abortion workers have quit their jobs and walked away from the abortion industry
• 21 abortion facilities have completely shut down following local 40 Days for Life campaigns outside their doors
• Women and men have been spared from the effects of abortion, including a lifetime of regrets
• More than 1,500 news stories have been featured in radio shows, newspapers, magazines and TV programs
• Many people with past abortion experiences have begun post-abortion healing and recovery

A Story from the Reno Sidewalk - “The sidewalk” needs you…"

I can speak from experience, an experience I’m not proud of, but will tell you anyway, in hopes that it will touch hearts… maybe even get a few more people to take a stand for those who can’t speak for themselves.

At the age of 21, I’ve been pregnant five times, but have only two living children.  Why?  Because I had an abortion.  This was not my decision, but that of others, but one that I will live with forever.  On July 23, 2007, at the age of 17, my mom drove me to a place of no hope and where many die.  That day, I paid someone to end my child’s life.  This was the last day of my son’s short life, at the age of 12 weeks gestation.

I met someone new, and became pregnant again.  This time, things were different.  When my boyfriend drove me to the same place, a single, sad looking man at the sidewalk held a sign with the word GOD.  This man, this wonderful man, saved my daughter’s life.  And I will thank him forever, until I die, for sparing her life.  Had he not been there, I don’t know where I would be, but I can say I would probably not know Jesus.  Actually, I would probably still be Athiest, and depressed.

I now have two beautiful children, my boyfriend then is now my husband who loves our children and me, and we are Catholic.  All because of one man that stood at “the sidewalk”.  My story is rare, and it shouldn’t be.  As Christians, we have a duty to God, to save babies and help their mothers.  It’s not enough to pray about it, actions speak louder than words.  Pray on it, and consider taking a stand.

Planned Parenthood Director, Abby Johnson, resigned from her position last Fall as a result of the prayers and peaceful demonstration of 40 Days for Life volunteers in front of her clinic. Abby shares her story at the Walk For Life West Coast 2010:
