40 Days of Prayerful Vigil In Annapolis

This fall, from September 28 - November 6, our community will be one of many cities joining together for the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history -- the 40 Days for Life campaign.

  • 301 cities
  • 48 US states -- plus Washington, DC and Puerto Rico
  • 7 Canadian provinces
  • Australia, England, Spain, and -- for the first time -- Germany and Argentina

40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life effort that consists of:

  • 40 days of prayer and fasting
  • 40 days of peaceful vigil
  • 40 days of community outreach

We are praying that, with God's help, this groundbreaking effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in Annapolis-- and throughout America.

Take a stand for life

While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside the local abortion facility.

You can help make a life-saving impact by joining our local vigil at:

Planned Parenthood     929 West Street,   Annapolis, MD 21401

Three story building next to the Hyundai dealership.  There is a sidewalk in the front of the building and one in the back beyond the fenced in parking lot.  Do not park in their parking lot.  Park across the street, Woodlawn or behind the Yacht Net Ltd 1000 West St. on the grass.  St. Mary's cemetery, on West St., is also available.

Prayer participants are needed by signing up to pray for one hour, or more, per week.  The "Prayer Vigil" will be from Wednesday, September 28th to Sunday, November 6th, seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. outside Planned Parenthood.

Sign up to participate in our local 40 Days for Life vigil by clicking the "Vigil Schedule" link at the top of this page.

Materials

Please only use 40 Days for Life signs, if ANY.  If you feel you must  bring your own signs, please be sure they are very mildly worded, e.g. that they offer help or resources.  This is a peaceful, prayerful event not a protest.  (See "Good vs. Bad Signs" for examples).  Remember always that we are trying to soften women's hearts to be open to God's Grace as we pray for them to turn away from the tragic, irreversible decision to abort their babies.  All participants must agree to abide by 40 Days for Life's "prayerful presence" guidelines as outlined in the Statement of Peace.
