I have a glorious story for all interested.
Today, three men and I were praying at Planned Parenthood. I saw an older station wagon coming up very slowly that went to the very front of the clinic, dropped someone off and then came back towards my direction. I noticed a middle-aged women driving, looking very, very lost and distraught as she slowly drove by. After she parked at the business away from the clinic's parking lot, she began walking by and I could see the despair in her eyes. So, I walked towards her and softly asked her if she needed some information and someone to talk to. She immediately said yes and told me her story.
She had just dropped her 27 year old daughter off to have an abortion, they had been fighting over this and Grama (Mom of the daughter) was very upset with her daughter’s choice. She already has five children that the Grama was helping to raise. But the Grama told her daughter that we would welcome this child too.
After hearing this I begged the Grama to please hurry and take info to her daughter, and bring her daughter out to me so I could talk with her and head her in another direction. I then hugged the Grama and she said she would go and give it her best shot. At that point I thought the story was over.
After about 15 minutes I saw the Grama coming out of building towards me, she looked very happy and I met her in the middle of street and we hugged and she started crying with joy to tell me her daughter HAD CHANGED HER MIND and was following her out the door. All I could do was cry and hug the Grama and I asked her if she was happy and she said YES! The daughter did not want to talk with me so I did not push it because at that moment she had her Mom and God to deal with.
We exchanged contact information after giving her literature on local places where she can go for support during her pregnancy. I told Grama we were not going to stop there, that this is only the start of the help we will offer. I cannot begin to tell you how this has humbled me in a way like no other.
