This spring, from February 22nd to April 1st 2012,  our community will be one of many cities joining together for the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history -- the 40 Days for Life campaign.

40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life effort that consists of:

We are praying that, with God's help, this groundbreaking effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city -- and throughout America.

Take a stand for life

While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside the local abortion facility.

You can help make a life-saving impact by joining our local vigil at:

The clinic has been in business 15 years. The owner is a board certified, female MD, with memberships in national abortion advocacy organizations. This is the only WNC clinic that does medical AND surgical abortions

DIRECTIONS: Exiting I 240 West onto Merrimon Avenue, go north a short distance and turn right onto Orange Street, right after Staples office supply (0.05 miles). The clinic is on your left, right after and next to Catholic Social Services.

VIGIL TIMES: From 7am to 7pm daily, starting February 22nd 2012 and ending April 1st 2012. We can pray anywhere along the street. On abortion days, WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY and SATURDAY, the regular sidewalk counselors ask, that we pray quietly across the street. The street is narrow with parking on one side, as on all the streets around there. Plenty parking on weekends. We can use Catholic Social Services bathrooms during the week or walk to Bojangles restaurant any day. We would like to have a record of participants at the site. Asheville Police is aware of the campaign and will patrol. They suggest everyone have the non-emergency police # (828)252 1110. They, and the 40 DFL national team, recommend that groups have a camera on a tripod. There have been no incidents against pro-life people at the site. Please keep the site clean.
