2026 40 Days for Life
This Lent, help save lives! Help protect mothers and children by joining the worldwide effort to pray and fast for an end to abortion!
Come and pray and publicly witness to the dignity of every human person from conception in our street prayer vigil.
When?
18 February (Ash Wednesday) to 29 March (Palm Sunday).
07:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Where?
Our street Vigil's physical location is the corner of Dominion Rd and Prospect Terrace (on the SE corner, adjacent to the Kip McGrath facility - 360A Dominion Rd).
Why there?
Easy-access chemical abortions are now widespread, and so our street Vigil should be in a highly visible location with plenty of foot and vehicular traffic.
The chosen Vigil site is near the Auckland Medical Aid Centre (AMAC) on Dominion Road. AMAC has an exclusion zone (safe area) in place, which prohibits discussing abortion. As public outreach is part of our peaceful, prayerful vigil, we will gather outside the exclusion zone to reach people with a message of hope and healing.

Can't make the street vigil?

Statement of Peace
It is a 40 Days for Life requirement that every participant read and sign a new Statement of Peace for 2026:
- We have a New Zealand-specific version of the 40 Days for Life Statement of Peace that covers local requirements and meets the requirements of 40 Days for Life.
- Copies of the Statement of Peace will be available in a folder in the 'resources box' at the street Vigil site for you to sign. It will also be available on our website. Alternatively, you can ask our Vigil coordinator to email you a copy, and bring it with you to the Vigil site.
- On or before your first vigil hour, please ensure you read and understand the Statement of Peace, sign it, and submit to the Vigil coordinator.

Final Palm Sunday Candlelight Vigil
As is our tradition, we will complete our 2026 40 Days for Life vigil with a Candlelight Vigil for the Unborn on Sunday 29 March (Palm Sunday):

7:30 p.m. on Palm Sunday (29 March 2026)
This final event is always a wonderful and well-attended Vigil, so come along and join the throng!
