On Wednesday morning, February 13th, my co-coordinator, Jeanette Barreras and several of her friends from St. Stephen's Catholic Church, did an 8 mile walk to stand for life while raising funds for Life Choices Women's Clinic in Phoenix.
The participants in the walk were: Jeanette Barreras, Judy Beshaw, Marie DiBone, Pat MacKenzie-Hyra, Jim Peters, Mary Reinig, Mary Ann Rivera, and Shirley Tormey.
Our community is one of 261 cities around the world joining together to pray for life during the 40 Days for Life campaign.
40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life effort that consists of:

40 days of prayer and fasting

40 days of peaceful vigil

40 days of community outreach
We are praying that, with God's help, this groundbreaking effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city -- and throughout America.

While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside the local abortion (or Planned Parenthood) facility.

Located in the Waterfall Plaza, on the west side of Alma School Road. Please do not park in the Waterfall Plaza shopping center. Parking is available at the church across the street on week days, or in the shopping center south of the plaza.

I testify to the following:
1. I will only pursue peaceful solutions to the violence of abortion when volunteering with the 40 Days for Life campaign.
2. I will show compassion and reflect Christ’s love to all abortion facility employees, volunteers, and customers.
3. I understand that acting in a violent or harmful manner immediately and completely disassociates me from the 40 Days for Life campaign.
4. I am in no way associated with the abortion facility/Planned Parenthood or its affiliates by way of employment, informant, volunteer, client, or otherwise.
While standing in the city right of way in front of the abortion facility:
5. I will not obstruct the driveways or sidewalk while standing in the public right of way.
6. I will not litter on the public right of way.
7. I will closely attend to any children I bring to the prayer vigil.
8. I will not threaten, physically contact, or verbally abuse the abortion facility/Planned Parenthood employees, volunteers, or customers.
9. I will not vandalize private property.
10. I will cooperate with local city authorities.
