The following was related by Ellen:
On opening day, Father Stack came in the afternoon to lead us in a rosary and prayer with approximately 12 people. The Holy Spirit presence came and we continued praying in the cold drizzle. … T… and her boyfriend pulled into the clinic, and I tried to get their attention, but they ignored me. The clinic was closed for renovations, so we told her the clinic was closed. However, they continued to sit in the parking lot, while we prayed. After about 10 minutes, they decided to drive away, and I approached the car as they were leaving, asking if she was pregnant. She told me she was, and I told her we could help her with free ultrasounds, housing, food, medical and other needs, so she could let her baby live. Her face brightened, and she took the information and rosaries I offered her. I continued to tell her she could choose life, she could let her baby live, and she could raise her baby or let someone else raise her baby for her in an open adoption. I encouraged her to go to the Laurel Pregnancy Center or Bowie-Crofton Pregnancy Clinic. She said she would go. She thanked us for being there. She wants her baby to live!!

Ellen related the following:
Today was a dismal, cold abortion day at the clinic in College Park, MD. Even though 7 prayer warriors had been praying for the women going into the abortion clinic, no one was willing to take our literature, as we continued to pray and hope for an opportunity to help a woman choose life.
As a woman came out of the clinic, I approached her with an offer of help and a free gift. She said she didn't need any help, as she already had two children and knew all about babies. I asked her if she was pregnant, and she told me she was, but did not think she could raise another child. She told me her name is S….., and she looked sad. I pressed on and told her we had help and she did not have to kill her baby, because we had formula, diapers, cribs, clothes, medical help and homes available for her. I explained that she could choose adoption, and someone could raise her baby in a loving home. I explained how beautiful her baby is, and that her baby wants to live!.... I told her about the free ultrasounds at the pregnancy center. Then I told her I wanted to pray for her and her baby. I prayed for her and her beautiful baby, and she hugged me and thanked me. Her whole countenance changed! She became excited and took the rosary and all the literature. She wants to keep her baby! She walked to her boyfriend's car, and she kept waving to us and smiling! Her boyfriend was smiling and waving, and they kept waving to us as they drove away.

Sam relayed the following:
On Tuesday, February 26, 2013 an African American couple approached the clinic and I offered them a rosary. The man came over and took the rosary and several pamphlets and mentioned that he had a rosary tattoo. I asked him why they were there and he replied "issues". I repeated the word in a questioning tone, and he said "You know what goes on here." I said yes, but that not everyone came here for the same thing. He said he'd read the information and entered the clinic. I was joined by a gentleman who began to pray the rosary, and later by Buzz, his wife, and 2 others.
Some time later the man I had spoken to earlier came out to smoke a cigarette. I managed to get his attention and asked what was happening with the woman he came with. He said he didn't know what to do, as he was out of work, his wife works as a waitress and they are living with one of their parents. I pulled out the information sheet, and pointed him to the Gabriel project, the Laurel pregnancy center and some of the other numbers and indicated they could get help. I had been praying the Chaplet of St. Michael, and he asked whether he could buy my chaplet. I said I would give it to him. He took the chaplet, and I asked for his name, which he indicated was T----. He reentered the clinic. A few minutes after 1 PM, the other prayers had left, and I was considering how much longer I could stay out there with the temperature what it was, when the couple exited the clinic and headed for a cab that had arrived a few minutes earlier. T… indicated they had not had the abortion!!!Save # 4 Wednesday, Feb 20, 2013
From Tom:
As I was praying in front of the clinic Wed Feb 20th, I saw a tallish woman about 30 holding several pages of paper, yellow, white and green, as she walked from the clinic to her boyfriend’s car. The papers are ones MFPI gives to women who are taking the RU486 abortion pill. After she talked to her boyfriend in her car she again headed for the MFPI entrance with her papers, this time with a broad smile and a bounce in her step. Upon this walk back into the clinic, Tom offered her the preborn development brochure, waving the colorful accordion folded paper to get her to come and take it. She said with a smile “No thanks, I already have one.” Then Tom recalled Sam Thompson had briefed him from the previous shift that he had counseled a woman, given her brochures and he was confident she would turn around once she could read and reflect inside the clinic. Not more than ten minutes later, she exited MFPI a final time, with a cheerful expression still holding the clinical papers yet without the small box in which the pills are packaged. Perhaps out of nervousness or perhaps as a reminder of her near brush with killing an innocent – she kept hold of her papers on her final walk to the car. Either way we pray the baby will continue to live!!

We had a 6-month in the womb baby saved at the College Park abortion clinic. Thank you for the prayers at the clinic and at home.
We had 8 prayer warriors present. Ericka and Deshawn, from D.C., stopped their car as they exited the clinic to talk to us. Ericka is 6 months pregnant and had been considering abortion, but is now going to have her baby! After accepting literature and rosaries, I shared that their beautiful baby already loves them and wants to live. I asked them to look at the literature and see how their baby is developing. After explaining open adoption, a way for the birth parents to visit their baby at birthdays, kindergarten graduation, and to receive photos and letters ensuring their baby is progressing well; Ericka decided to choose life. Free ultrasounds, housing, diapers and a crib were also offered, if she contacted Gabriel Network for help. We discussed her health risks, as some women cannot conceive again after abortion. Finally, I asked if I could pray with them to make the right decision. After praying and talking with them, this baby is going to live! Please pray for Erika, Deshawn, and their beautiful baby in the womb.
This is the fifth baby saved at Greenbelt this 40 Days for Life!
Keep up the prayers! Glory to God!

From Tom:
A mid 30s couple arrived in a burgundy Ford Explorer about 10:20am, and the male companion a white man, named Steven, was seen carrying a thick textbook into the clinic. It was a book on civil rights. The sidewalk was populated with nearly 30 faithful people mostly young families a baby stroller, and a large tapestry icon of Our Lady of Guadalupe catching the sun and facing the clients.
The sunny and mild weather had enticed three other client companions to walk out of the clinic to occupy their minds on something other than destruction of a preborn child. About fifteen minutes later Steven exited the clinic alone and walked down to the sidewalk in response to Tom's offer of a helper's resource flyer and that's when he told Tom he did not want his wife get an abortion. He then deflected attention away from himself to offer a defense of the abortion clients, saying how it is legal in Maryland, and what we (sidewalk counselors) should be in the court-houses to work a way to change what is legally protected. He reiterated saying he is opposed to his wife's pursuit of an abortion, nonetheless he still wanted to engage a debate on rights.
At that point a married couple (Roger and Heike Seeholzer) walked over to counsel and pray with Steven. Steven explained he and his wife have four children, and she recently separated from him because she was irritated by his increasing attitude of righteousness, one he did not have when they married, despite his parents being Christian ministers.
Heike fervently prayed over him with her husband at her side... the three talked and prayed for more than 20-minutes until Steven received the unction to go inside MFPI to speak to his wife. Steven went inside MFPI - and we can only imagine how close she was to getting prepared - having been there for 45-minutes, yet my how the Holy Spirit was working, because in five minutes or less Steven with a triumphal smile exited the clinic following his wife. Walking quickly he had just enough time to tell Roger and Heike, thank you, she decided against abortion! Needless to say they need our prayers… to help them through challenging times. Lord we pray for her to receive the Spirit's gift to help her understand and see with love her role as caring mother to five children.

From Janice:
Two African American females drove up and proceeded towards the clinic entrance.. I offered rosaries and information which one woman took and told me – she was not going to have an abortion – she was going to have an ultra sound. After about 1 hour a young man arrived in a white car and went into the clinic. After about 15 minutes, he came back out, and retrieved some paperwork from his car which I recognized as similar to receipts for abortion payments. After about 25 minutes the 2 women came out extremely happy. After another 10 minutes he came out very unhappy – and tried to get the other two to stoop to talk. The woman had left without having the abortion! Another baby was living!
That same afternoon, a young African American couple arrived. I offered a rosary and information on local pregnancy centers and timelines and pictures of 9 months of fetal development. She took the information and he just sadly shook his head. About 30 minutes later they both came out of the clinic – very, very happy and waved to me. As they were leaving the man waved to get my attention and waved and smiled and smiled – as if to say thank you. One more baby not aborted!
