Please excuse how this is typed up. The size, font, spacing...nothing is working right now for some reason...
Thank you all so much for your involvement during the 40 Days for Life! Here's a little recap of what happened here in Colorado Springs.
We began the 40 Days being blessed by The Faricy Boys Motor who donated tires for the Mobile Pregnancy Center. So you could say, before the 40 Days even began, we were ready to roll! :)
A local father asked us for prayers for his married daughter who was going to have an abortion in Boulder. After days of praying and wondering, he gave us the good news, that she had chosen life!! I emailed the leader of Boulder 40 Days for Life and let her know so she could count the baby as saved from abortion at the Boulder Clinic!! The couple that was so ready to get rid of the baby are now happy and joyful that they are keeping it! God is amazing and truly changes hearts!!
We found out about the story of Ayanna Byer, who is now in a lawsuit against Planned Parenthood because of a botched, forced abortion! We discovered that it actually happened during the last 40 Days for Life closing in the fall. While we were praying at the sidewalk, she was in PP being rushed through an abortion that she said she didn't want to go through with. A few days later, she almost died because there were baby parts still inside of her, but was saved, thanks to God's providence of having Dr. Foley on charge at the emergency room she went to! We pray that this will be the final straw that closes down this Planned Parenthood for good!!
We were blessed to have the National Director of 40 Days for Life, David Bereit, come and pray and speak with us at a prayer rally. It was really touching to hear him speak and meet him and see his dedication and humility. We were so blessed with the 60ish people that came out in the snowstorm to the prayer service. Those who led the prayer really touched my (and I'm sure everyone else's) hearts with their sincerity and love. Even thought everyone was freezing, spirits were high and I think we were all happy we were there!
Kathy, one of our sidewalk counselors talked a woman out of taking the morning after pill. Since the woman didn't know if she was actually pregnant, it may or may not have been a baby saved, but either way, she was saved. Imagine what her life would have been like if she had taken the pill and wondered for the rest of her life if she killed her baby.
Fr. Bill got his surgery and we are still praying for him. He actually called and was able to speak on the phone, so his voice is getting stronger!! He's not 100% yet, but stronger! We thank God for Fr. Bill and his healing and continue to pray for a full recovery.
I could go on and on because if each one of you were to tell how you were personally blessed during these 40 days, we would have many more stories to tell. I'd like to ask you to do something during this, the holiest week of the year...please spend a few minutes meditating on what blessings you received during the 40 days. I'm sure you will be amazed at how many you think of!!
Also, during this holy week, we will all meditate on the love of Jesus and His sacrifice that He made for us. On Good Friday, consider going to pray at the sidewalk. As Fr. Bill says, Jesus is being crucified in the abortion clinic, in the babies who are being killed. We weren't alive to stand at the foot of the cross with Jesus, but we can stand at the abortion clinic and be with Him there.
Have a Happy and Blessed Easter!!

This is from Judy, a fellow sidewalk "pray"er. Please pray for the couple in the green car! :)
Stacie and I were standing on the sidewalk this morning between 10 and 11. A green car turned onto the road and I saw a young man and woman inside the car. It seemed to me the woman looked at us on the sidewalk and began talking to the young man as he saw us too. The car went into Planned Parenthood. I asked Stacie to stop the rosary so we could pray for this young couple. I prayed (even as we watched them walk into Planned Parenthood) that as they entered they would realize it was not a place that they should stay in. I prayed that they would leave right away and if she were pregnant the baby would be saved. As we watched it was not more than 5 min the woman came hurrying out of Planned Parenthood and a few second later the man came out too! They did not spend even 5 min in PP. They then drove out down the back road - seemed like they did not want to drive by us again. So Stacie and I are claiming that they will find some help in a pro life place and that God will help them find what they need. I sent this to you so we can all pray for the couple in the green car.

Here is the info. for the closing...
Spring 40 Days for Life Closing Prayer Gathering
Friday, March 22nd
**Mass celebrated by Bishop Sheridan 9 a.m.at the Centennial sidewalk**
**Prayer at Chase Bank sidewalk at 10 a.m.**
(We will pray the Scriptures and have an
unstructured, non-denominational prayer time.)
For those of you who want to join together for lunch at 11:30, we will gather at
Boriello Brothers pizza place in the King Soopers shopping center
to support the pro-life business owner there.
You are welcome to come to one or all of the events on the 22nd!!
As you may have noticed, the owner of the buildings/parking lot at the King Sooper Center has put up no parking signs for people going to pray at the sidewalk. The signs state that the private parking lot is for customers only. Here is our solution...Many of us shop each time (or many times) we go to the sidewalk anyway, and always have! Just keep shopping there. Just go into King Soopers or to another business to purchase something before going to pray. Save your receipt! Or, if you are sticking around for pizza afterwards, you are a customer!! Although some of the businesses there have complained about us, many have supported us (Jun's, Boriello's Pizza, King Soopers). As customers, we have a right to be there. The other option is to park north of the sidewalk, at the bottom of the hill where the houses are, and walk up the hill.
March 11th
I have a very profound story to share and prayer request...Fr. Bill, a priest in Colorado Springs who has been celebrating Mass out on the sidewalk for 18 years and has been out praying at the sidewalk for over 25 years is currently in the hospital with thyroid cancer. He is only in his 50's.
After the surgery to remove the thyroid and cancerous tumors, Fr. Bill couldn't speak because one of his vocal cords was damaged. Here he is, the man who has been speaking for the preborn practically non-stop for the last twenty-some years now cannot speak himself. This is a very powerful and profound witness. In his silence and suffering, he IS speaking for the preborn. He IS speaking for the women and men who are post-abortive and feel that they have no one to talk to. He is speaking for the abortion worker who feels trapped and afraid, not knowing how to get away from the place of death.
If you know Fr. Bill personally, you know that this is a huge cross for him to carry because he does love to talk! The doctors are optimistic that radiation will take care of any remaining cancer and that his voice will come back. They have done a tracheotomy on him to help him to breathe and will get him a machine so he can speak in that way.
Please keep Fr. Bill in your prayers. Silence does sometimes speak volumes.
March 11th
I am sending updates about Fr. Bill. Some of you who read this may not be familiar with Fr. Bill. He has been praying at the sidewalk for 25 years (well, not non-stop, I mean) and celebrating Mass there every Sat. (now Fri.) for 18 years! He was diagnosed recently with thyroid cancer. He went into surgery on Friday at 1. They removed the thyroid and the cancerous growths. The thyroid cancer has spread to his lungs, but they believe the radiation will take care of that. He was in pretty bad shape, I guess, on the eve of the 8th, but is improving...here are some updates from someone who visited him.
From the eve of March 9th-
As reported earlier, Father Bill was having some trouble breathing. So they performed a second surgery to do a tracheotomy. Soon he will get a machine so that he can talk. Currently, he can not talk, but the machine will make it possible. They do expect him to completely get his voice back after a time of recover.
Tomorrow, he will have another surgery to insert a feeding tube.
It was clarified to me that the cancer in his lungs and chest is not lung cancer but, the thyroid cancer spread. They want you to know that they believe that a bit of radiation should take care of that.
His brother is with him and although he seems in pain his spirits seem good. Please continue to keep him in your prayers.
This was from March 10th
Father Bill seems to be doing much better today. Pain is under control and he has his feeding tube.
They are expecting another five days in the hospital. As he still has a journey ahead of him, please continue to pray for him.
March 5th
Who will brave snow, wind, and a wind chill of 20 degrees? Those who stand up for life!!
What an awesome prayer rally!!! Thank you to all of you who braved the snow and 20 degree wind chill! Wasn't it awesome!?! Although we were totally freezing, it felt good to be out there together, praying and witnessing. There were around 60 people who braved the cold and snow. We even had 4 people come all the way from Trinidad!
A special thank you goes out to David Bereit who encouraged us and challenged us to keep going out to pray. He told us that when Abby Johnson (when she was still director of Planned Parenthood) met with her supervisors, they said that when people were at the sidewalk praying during 40 days, the number of appointments that were canceled went up 74%
March 3rd
Here is the latest from Kathy, one of our sidewalk counselors. C. just needed someone to talk to. She knew deep in her heart what the right thing to do was. Thank goodness someone was out there to talk to her. Whether or not she was pregnant, if she had taken the morning after pill, she would have lived with the guilt and regret that she may have killed her own baby.
Thank you for being out there at the sidewalk!!
(I left out some of the information to protect privacy...Michele)
Friday, March 1, 2013:
A save, at least of a mother, and possibly a baby!
A car pulled up to the sidewalk and a young woman rolled down the window to ask if there was a Christian she could talk with? We suggested she pull around to the Chase parking lot, which she did. (I was elected to go speak with her.) She wanted me to sit in the car with her to talk privately. C. is a strong Christian believer... She is trying to walk in righteousness, but slipped and now was going to Planned Parenthood for the morning after pill. She felt she was letting down her family, her church, her mentor - everyone who has meant anything in her walk with the Lord. This was the easiest way she could see to "fix" the situation, just in case she had become impregnated... When presented with the logical arguments to these and other thoughts she was having, C. came to the conclusion that in any event, she would not follow through with her plan for the pill - that she knew God's heart and He would give her the strength to cope with any situation that would arise in the next few weeks as she waited until it was time to take a pregnancy test. We prayed, especially for clarity, which she seemed to develop as the talk went on. I gave her a DVD of 180, a magnet, a soft touch baby and the pregnancy resource brochure. She left with a determination, a radiant countenance and a smile on her face. Please keep C. in your prayers.
Thursday, Feb. 28, 2012:
Please keep B. and her two month baby in your prayers. B. was looking for a place to stay for the weekend. She had been locked out of her motel room (baby diapers, cell phone and belongings inside) due to non payment. She had signed a lease for an apartment for Monday, but had been informed that she needed 3 months rent in advance due to a recent bankruptcy (she had lost her house and had been evicted). B. had a check that would cover the apt., but not anything else...After a counselor spoke with Fr. Bill, she had new information to take to Catholic Charities, so she left to try... We pray she found what she needed to make it through to Monday.
Praise God for all the prayer warriors on the sidewalk! As we each take one step at a time, we see God's hand sweeping away the enemy and creating a holy place. Bless you all!
For Life,
Kathy
February 25th,
I've been posting to those signed up to get emails, but am forgetting to put it on the blog, sorry!!
How can we spread the word about 40 Days for Life? How can we get more people praying at the sidewalk?
It sometime surprises me how many people haven't even heard of 40 Days for Life. What better way to promote 40 Days for Life than to tell everyone about David Bereit, the National Leader, coming here to pray with us and share his story!!
Here's the idea...
Copy off 5 flyers (for those of you not signed up on email, sign up first at prolifefamilyof15@gmail.com and I'll send you a flyer). When you go somewhere (the grocery story, to school, to church, the doctor), consider stopping at one of the churches along the way and asking the receptionist if you (or she) can post the flyer in their church. How easy is that?
On my way home from the grocery store today, I stopped at Church For All Nations and Vista Grande Baptist Church this afternoon to drop off flyers. It only took 15 minutes of my time. I will print off more flyers and keep them in my car for when I drive past other churches.
Just think, you do that, someone at that church sees the flyer and goes to the prayer rally. They get fired up, spread the word and so on! It only takes one person who is excited about it to spread the word to many others. That's how this will grow!!
Try to do it this week especially so that people will see it when they go to services on Sunday.
Here's another idea...Print off the pregnancy center brochures also and ask if you can leave some of those in their church too. You never know when someone may be considering abortion. If they saw a flyer like that, they may choose life!! (Leave them in other places too, doctor's offices, stores etc.)
February 19th,
The Old Colorado City Pregnancy Center, part III
Going into the final meeting to decide what to do about the pregnancy center, spirits were low. We knew that the Steven Curtis Chapmen event fell through. We knew that because of the 2008 economy, the Walk for Life event raised less money than the year before. Most of all we knew that the original pregnancy center couldn't be put at risk by taking unnessessary chances. But how could God not want a pregnancy center across the street from Planned Parenthood? How could this not be God's will, when we had seen His work among us?
Thankfully, Raul, the man God put in charge of it all, had great faith and courage. As we sat there, waiting for him to speak, for the bomb to drop, we were truly shown the faith of this man. He began by telling us, in a sad tone, what we already knew, that the money needed hadn't been raised, but then his attitude took a turn. He said we were going to trust in God and do it!!!
I think probably every mouth in the room dropped to the ground in surprise and then a cheer went up! Tears were in my eyes as I thanked God.
Raul reminded us of a man named Gideon. Gideon was ready to go into battle with thousands of men. But God told him which 300 men to choose. God wanted the Israelites to know that the battle would be won by the hand of God, not by them. Raul told us it was similar with us. The Old Colorado City Pregnancy Center would be opened. It would be financed. We would trust in God and he would provide. All glory and honor would go to God! And it does!! Praise the Lord!!!
Our gift was opened and the final ribbon was cut!! The Old Colorado City Pregnancy opened right before the fall 2008 campaign of 40 Days for Life. This beacon of light was planted across from the place of death, and lives would be saved! The Interdenominational Prayer Chapel was opened the following April, after the spring 2009 campaign. People would go to pray upstairs in the chapel while women were being helped downstairs in the pregnancy center. It was really beautiful.
But the wonderful blessings weren't over yet!! Planned Parenthood, which had been in that building on Colorado Ave. for over 40 years, packed up and moved! You can't tell me that it was just a coincidence that they moved from that building of 40+ years. The Old Colorado City Pregnancy Center was taking away their "business". How do we know? We don't need to see actual numbers and figures to see the truth. People were starting to go across the street instead of going into Planned Parenthood. We led people across the street to the pregnancy center. And we saw people of their own accord going there. Yes, Planned Parenthood was forced to move. Eventually, the Old Colorado City Pregnancy Center also moved and is now the Pregnancy Center on King Street.
We praise you Father! We thank You for the amazing gift you have given us in the Pregnancy Center! We thank you for the miraculous way it came into being. We thank you for all of the people involved, directly and indirectly. We thank you for the people you have touched to pray at the sidewalk. Please bless those who pray at the sidewalk today and this week, here and around the world. Bless the women and men going in to get an abortion, that their hearts are changed. Bless the workers at PP that their hearts are changed. Touch the lives of those driving by that they will see the truth, that they will see our love and willingness to sacrifice our time, and our lives for them. Bless and heal those who have had abortions. We pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
As we are out there at the sidewalk praying during these 40 days and beyond, we will pray that God touches hearts so that the Mobile Pregnancy Center will be able to be moved into the Patterson parking lot. We pray that whatever God's will is, if it is this or something else, that He make it known to us and let us set His plan in motion.
Please go out to the sidewalk to pray today. I am looking for those who are willing to go above and beyond what they have already pledged. If you are praying out there for 1 hour a week, consider 2.
What is God calling you to do? Listen to Him. We need warriors! We need people willing to sacrifice! We need people to go above and beyond! Sure, it is hard to get out there an hour a week! But...let's try 3 hours! God has not called us to do the minimum we can do. We live in times that call for the extreme. If we want the Mobile Pregnancy Center across from PP, we need to be willing to sacrifice until it hurts!
Jesus died on the cross for us!! He was on that cross for 3 hours! Can we be at the sidewalk for those 3 hours? Some of you are called to do even more. NOW is the time that we need people to go the extra mile. Today. Are you willing to do that for Jesus? There are abortion pills given out at PP from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today! There are women who are waiting for a sign from God to not take that pill. Will you be that final sign?!!
See you at the sidewalk!
February 18th
Here is part II of the Old Colorado City Pregnancy Center story. God is amazing!!!
(Thanks to those of you who signed up to pray at the sidewalk today! We do still have a couple afternoon hours to fill today and we do have almost ALL of the hours on Tuesday to fill. Wed. and Thursday are mostly filled with people who will be out there praying.)
The Old Colorado City Pregnancy Center Miracle- Part II
Valentine's Day.
The first meeting to discuss the puchasing the house across the street from Planned Parenthood to convert it to a pregnancy center happened on Valentine's Day, 2008. It began with a prayer in Hebrew by Pastor Steve. As I sat around that table, I looked at the wide variety of people God had chosen to be there...a messianic Jewish pastor, a priest, evangelicals, catholics, businessmen, construction workers, a writer, former military, older people, younger people and so on. Each person had a role in God's plan of setting up the pregnancy center, just as GOD HAS A PLAN FOR EACH ONE OF YOU during this 40 days' effort.
As Pastor Steve said a prayer in Hebrew, I got tears in my eyes. Of course I didn't understand what he was saying, but as he prayed and then others joined in, I was overwhelmed with the beauty and wonder of God's work. I truly felt God's love and presence there.
As the meeting progressed, it was decided to form committees. We needed prayer to support everything, so there was a prayer committee, a finance committee, fundraising, research, remodeling and decorating etc. By the end of the meeting, we all knew what we were supposed to do until the next meeting. It was decided to name the pregnancy center, The Old Colorado City Pregnancy Center. One key element would be an Interdenominational Esther Prayer Chapel with an attached Catholic Blessed Sacrament Chapel.
As the months passed and people did what they were supposed to do, we were hit with bad news. The house across the street had been sold!
We soon discovered that the plan we had been looking at all along wasn't God's plan. Yes, He did want a pregnancy center opened, but not that house. You see, there was a cute little house down the street that was up for sale. It wasn't as fancy and polished as the first house. It needed some fixing up, but it was a cute little house. It so happened that the man who owned the house was the owner of a local resteraunt, The Mason Jar, and a Christian man. He was willing to give Life Network a lease with an option to buy. This whole process was not only about opening a pregnancy center, it was about touching lives along the way. The owner of the Mason Jar was touched by our effort and we were touched by his generosity. I pray that his business is still being blessed by pro-lifers in thanksgiving for what he did for us. As we would see later on, this little house was perfect! The attic would be perfect for an Interdenominational Esther Prayer Chapel. It had one little room that was one, but yet two! How is that possible? (It was one room that was kind of like two rooms since it was joined by a section with two benches.) How perfect!!
Now, the only obstacle was how to raise money. Life Network couldn't put the existing pregnancy center at risk, so Raul decided to wait to see what the income would be from the Steven Curtis Chapman concert before jumping in. As many of you know, a tragedy then happened that affected thousands of people whose hearts would go out to him at this time, including ours. The young daughter of Steve Curtis Chapman was killed in an accident. Needless to say, he didn't come to do the concert at that time. (He came a couple of years later and shared his amazing story. What a faith-filled man!) After this happened and the Walk for Life income was less than the previous year, we went into our last meeting expecting Raul to say that they couldn't afford it and thus couldn't undertake the opening of a new pregnancy center...but we would be surprised by faith!
Stay tuned to find out how God brought about a miracle!!
February 17th
At the kick off, I told the story of how the Old Colorado City Pregnancy Center came to be. (It is now the Pregnancy Center located on King Street) Since there are a lot of new people who don't know the story, I will tell it again here...
The Old Colorado City Pregnancy Center Miracle- Part I
This is a story about God's total love for us, a story of a Father's desire to help His children and to shower us with blessings.
It all started with the idea of a man named Leonard. You see Leonard wanted to buy a house which was for sale across the street from Planned Parenthood to open a home for unwed mothers. (This was when Planned Parenthood was located on Colorado Ave.) He soon discovered that the home was not suitable for this purpose. Then came Jerry and Diane who noticed the same house and thought of buying it to open a pregnancy center. They shared their idea with others, who of course, encouraged them to pursue the idea. At the prompting of Fr. Bill, they met with Raul and Christine, directors of Life Network. Raul and Christine had actually been looking at purchasing a home on the west end of town to open a second pregnancy center here in town.
God was ready to give Colorado Springs a great gift. However, impatient children as we were, we wanted to open the gift right away. We wanted to hurry up so we could buy the house and start saving babies! (O.K., not everyone was as impatient as me...) God had a different plan. God was giving us this great gift, but this gift would be opened and revealed bit by bit, not all at once. We had to peel off the layers to reveal what His final present was. You see, His plan for the pregnancy center included a lot of people, people who normally wouldn't be working together, people from all denominations and backgrounds. So, the house wouldn't be purchased just yet. He first had to bring these people together. These people would need to learn to pray well together and work well together. Enter 40 Days for Life.
The first 40 Days for Life effort in Colorado Springs began on February 6th, 2008. During the first few days of this effort, with people praying out at the sidewalk, many people noticed the house for sale. God was planting the same idea in many hearts. There was a meeting that was set up for Valentine's Day at Life Network to discuss the possibility of purchasing this house. But wait! God didn't have everyone quite yet...
On February 13th, Richard, a man who had committed to praying at the sidewalk every night at 11 p.m. met Pastor Steve, a Jewish Rabbi, who also had an interest in purchasing the house. He was immediately invited to the meeting on the 14th.
But that isn't all! On February 14th, I was praying at the sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood, and a man named Kevin stopped to talk. He didn't know anything about 40 Days for Life, but said he noticed that there was a house across the street for sale and perhaps we should think about purchasing it and converting it to a pregnancy center... God added another person, who was included in His plan, just 2 hours before the meeting was to begin!! Isn't God amazing!!??!
Part II to come!
February 16th
I am just sending this email to remind you to park AS FAR AWAY from the businesses as possible in the King Sooper parking lot when going out to the sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood to pray. I spoke with the owner (of the buildings and lot) yesterday who was very upset because a number of the smaller tenents called her and were upset that the parking places for their businesses were being taken by people who were out at the sidewalk praying (or "protesting" as one said). I also spoke with one of the tenents.
First, before getting angry at them, consider this...satan is attacking where he can. he is the king of fear and he put fear into these business people's hearts that they will lose business because of us. Many of them think that there will be large groups of people out there every day of the 40 days taking up their "spaces". Joy (the owner) was told by someone there were 500 people out there yesterday (I wish!!) So, the father of lies was spreading all kinds of lies and making us look bad.
I just ask that you respect their businesses and park as far back as possible. Start by parking along the area that faces Centennial. Then when that is full, go to the King Sooper's side, far back from the businesses. Let's not give them anything bad that they can say about us. If we act respectfully then they will come to understand we aren't there to run them out of business. If anything, we have increased their business!
Let's pray that this just kind of blows over...
February 15th
What a wonderful blessing it was to be out on the sidewalk for the prayer service with all the young people today. To all of the young people, thank you! Thank you! You have no idea the inspiration you give to us and to others who are driving by!
I received another email from someone who has been inspired to be out there praying EVERY DAY for the 40 Days for Life. That makes 3 that I know of although there are probably more... Anyone else up for the challenge?!
February 14th (part 2)
This is what 40 Days for Life is about!! This family who went out to the sidewalk today not only prayed at the sidewalk, they blessed people with their love and kindness!
Happy Valentine's Day!!
Read their story...
FYI...we were at Chase from about 9:30 to 12:15 today.
One of us delivered a bouquet of flowers with a thank you card to the Chase Bank manager. We passed out about 25 pink and red carnations to women who would stop at the stop sign. They had little pink notes tied with a ribbon on them that said "Your Life is Precious." We would tell them: "You are so beautiful!" and they smile and take the flower. We also waved at JC, the PP security guard and he waved, but would not put down his window to take our flower.
I met a most incredible mother...from Corpus Christi downtown. She came there to pray with two beautiful little girls...one looked about 6...the other was profoundly handicapped in a wheelchair. She told me she had adopted them. She said she couldn't think of something she would rather do on Valentine's Day then come out to pray for people here. Humble, beautiful woman. I gave them each a flower.
February 14th
We are in need of prayers! A local father is asking for prayers for his daughter who has planned to have an abortion (in the Boulder area) on Saturday.
It really hits home when the someone who is considering abortion is someone you know and love. Please pray that she changes her mind.
"Father, we ask for you to send Your Holy Spirit upon this family. Touch the hearts of this girl and her husband to choose life for their baby. Let them see and feel the precious one that she carries. Help the father of this girl who is going through agony right now, wondering what to say and do. Give him Your words to share with her and Your love to love her with. We ask this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior."
February 12th
As we get ready to begin our 40 Days for Life effort, let us keep the following Scripture verse in mind...
"...he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that you may always have enough of everything and may provide in abundance for every good work."
2 Corinthians 6-8
Let us go into this effort ready to give all we can to the Lord. Let us pray the same prayers together each day. Let us be as one body in Christ ready to conquer the evil at Planned Parenthood. For those who are able, let's go out to the sidewalk to pray, letting women and men know by our example that we are there for them. We are ready to sow bountifully during these 40 days and God has promised to bless us in abundance.
How many hours are you willing to spend at the sidewalk?
I'd like to thank those of you who have committed to praying there every day. I will commit to being there 3 hours every week (one for each hour Jesus was on the cross) and I challenge you to do the same. Can each of you (who are able) commit to 3 hours a week or at least an hour a week? I'm telling you, it will change your life! It will change many lives!
Don't forget to sign up...Here are the first few days... we still need people to pray during the following days and times:
Thursday (14th) 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Friday (15th) 7 and 8 a.m., 3, 4 and 5 p.m.
Saturday (16th) 6, 7 and 11 a.m., 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 p.m.
**Please consider signing your church up to take a whole day! Take turns praying at the sidewalk on that day. There are still a lot of days right now that are totally empty or almost empty of "pray"ers! Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays and some Saturdays are the days that are most in need right now. I will send out an email saying which churches are taking which days
February 10th
Only 3 more days!!!
I'd like to say thank you to the The Faricy Boys for volunteering to purchase and put on the tires for the Mobile Pregnancy Center. This was a very generous and amazing thing to do!!
While I'm on the subject, I'd also like to publicly appreciate other businesses who have supported us out on the sidewalk. I do think we should support these businesses who are standing up for life! By the way, none of them have ever asked me to publicly thank them like this; they don't do it for recognition, but because it is the right thing to do. I think they should be blessed for their faithfulness!
Back when the Old Colorado City Pregnancy Center was opened in 2008, it was The Mason Jar who rented the house to Life Network at a very reasonable rate. They bent over backwards to work with Life Network. Also, Jun's Restaurant in the King Sooper's shopping center has been very supportive of us at the sidewalk. If you stop in to eat there, they will give you a discount on your meal. Just let them know before you order that you are with 40 Days for Life and you pray at the sidewalk.
There are many other good, Christian businesses in town also. These are just the ones who have been brought to my attention with their good example.
Blessings to you all!!

I received this from someone in the group, Greg, who is a volunteer with Life Network. They are in need of help for the Mobile Pregnancy Center. Can any of you help?
Email me if you are interested and I will forward their phone # and email to you.

Here is what he wrote...
I am a volunteer driver for the Life Network Mobile Pregnancy Center. I am also in charge of maintenance on the MPC (RV).
**We are looking for people with connections in Colorado Springs to a tire shop that may be able to give us a discount on new tires for the MPC.
**Also, if you know of anyone who would be willing to donate money to help defray the cost of new tires, I could pass along an email address for them to contact at Life Network.
I have not requested any quotes yet, but since six truck type tires are needed, it will probably cost over $1,000 for a new set.

The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.
Isaiah 32:17
It has been brought to my attention that there have been people at the sidewalk carrying graphic pictures and shouting things at women going into Planned Parenthood. Just know that these people at the sidewalk do not represent 40 Days for Life. This is not what we are about.
The success of the 40 Days for Life movement is largely in part because the people praying at the sidewalk are praying peacefully. Abby Johnson was converted when those on the sidewalk were kind to her day after day and others who have quit working at abortion clinics have said the same. People are converted through love!
If you encounter people using graphic images, just distance yourself from them. There are two sidewalks to choose to stand on, the one near Chase Bank and the Centennial sidewalk.
Please pray that we can all be at the sidewalk together, without this division, praying in peace and unity to save babies and help mothers and fathers.

I've had a number of new people ask me about where to get literature (pamphlets) and information to give to people when out praying at the sidewalk. Most of the time people do not approach you, but sometimes they do, so it is good to take something out there with you.
**On the local website
www.40daysforlife.com/coloradosprings if you go to the "need help" bar, you can print off the information with the names/addresses/phone #'s of the pregnancy centers (and other places to get help) in Colorado Springs and southern Colorado to be able to give to people.
**Heritage House
www.hh76.com has numerous pamphlets that you can order and have on hand.
**DVD's are sometimes given out at the sidewalk. Here are two good ones:
www.maafa21.com exposes the history of the eugenics movement and the Planned Parenthood agenda of exterminating the African American population through abortion. It can be seen at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASrFufnMNDg These movies are NOT for kids. I highly recommend both of them.
It has the most comprehensive list of places for people to go for help I have seen. Types of help available range from counseling to crisis centers, medical and dental help, prescription assistance, legal assistance, employment assistance, housing/shelter assistance, food assistance and so on.
