Thanks to all who participated in this Spring Campaign!
It wouldn't have been successful without your prayerful presence! As one prayer warrior always reminds me " we are not called to be successful, but faithful". I believe if we are faithful, God will bring the success to our life-saving efforts! We had strong prayer support throughout the week from the various local churches, with some continuing to come out during the week after the 40 Days for Life! Please continue to join us in prayer.
We celebrated our closing event on Saturday, March 31 with a surprise visit by David Bereit, the National Director for the 40 Days for Life. We were honored to have him and his family join us for dinner. It was great to have David speak since he is always passionate when he speaks about all the good news coming from the campaigns from around the country! For those who couldn't make the dinner, you missed a good BBQ dinner, but we captured David's talk and its posted under the "Events" link - well worth listening to! It includes the good news stories and what we can do to continue our pro-life efforts beyond the 40 Days for Life campaign.
Come join us as we continue to pray outside NOVA Women's Healthcare, Saturdays from 8am to Noon and during the week.
Good News! Friday Night - March 9, 2012
You may have heard this already from someone else, but in case not, I wanted to pass along something awesome that happened Friday night during the 6 pm-7 pm shift.
A group of us were standing on the sidewalk holding signs and talking, when a woman pulled up and parked in the parking lot in front of the building. She got out of her car and came over to talk to one of the women, and proceeded to explain that the year before she had been pregnant and had scheduled an appt for an abortion at the clinic. She drove by before her appt, however, and saw signs like the ones we were holding, and they made her reconsider. She decided to keep the baby, and showed us a picture of her beautiful 4-month son! She wanted to stop and tell us, to thank us for what we were doing and to let us know that the signs and the pictures of the babies make a difference. It was an amazing God moment, and a very encouraging one that I wanted to pass along.
On a cool side note, the woman she went up to was someone who had never prayed outside an abortion clinic before but had recently been moved to do so. What a wonderful thing for her to experience on her first time!
Thank you for all you do in this campaign --this experience was a very powerful example of the effect it has.

This Spring, from February 22 - April 1, 2012, our community will be one of many cities joining together for the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history -- the 40 Days for Life campaign.
40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life effort that consists of:
40 days of prayer and fasting
40 days of peaceful vigil
40 days of community outreach
We are praying that, with God's help, this groundbreaking effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city -- and across America.
Take a stand for life
While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside the local abortion facility.

May 26 -Saturday - Sidewalk Counseling Training Session - St. Leo's Catholic Church, 3700 Old Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA. From 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the St. Matthew's Room. Learn how to talk the abortion-minded out of an abortion. Free training by Dick Retta of Lifeguard, all are welcome.
