LOCAL NEWS about 40 Days for Life

While we do care deeply for the unborn, our concern is also for all those affected by abortion or who are hurting from such a decision. There is help!  Locally we recommend this program:

After Abortion Care provides women who have made an abortion decision a safe small group setting where she can explore the emotions that are associated with post abortion trauma. If you or someone you know has made a decision to have an abortion there is hope and there is healing.

Fort Collins 40 Days for Life in its 5th campaign is again noted on the national website on February 21, 2013: http://40daysforlife.com/blog/?p=4004

“What do you get out of this?”

The question, from a young man smoking a cigarette outside the Planned Parenthood building, was directed at the volunteers who offered him an information card.

“We do not get anything,” replied Scott, one of the volunteers. “We are here to help you.”

So the man told his story. He has a two-year-old daughter … but his wife was inside for an abortion. “Everyone should have a choice,” the man insisted — throughout all nine months of pregnancy.

As the two men continued to talk, the young father said, “I have seen other protesters, but you are different.”

The man finally took the card Scott had offered him — it includes information about post-abortive help.

“When his wife came over to get him,” said Linda in Fort Collins, “her eyes revealed the pain in her soul. It is this pain that we so much pray to prevent from happening.”

On October 22nd, 2011 the Fort Collins 40 Days for Life was featured on the national website:

Fort Collins is in the midst of its second 40 Days for
Life campaign. "This is a growing, grassroots pro-life
effort," said Linda in Fort Collins.

The vigil is across the street from Colorado State
University. The first campaign drew a lot of negative
attention. Not so this time.

"Also, there are about 30 churches involved at some
level -- and five have the big 40 Days for Life banner
proudly displayed on their buildings for all to see,"
she said.

The campaign is getting a big boost from a nearby
Catholic church "whose new pastor has opened his heart
and arms and that of the parish to the 40 Days for Life."

This church is hosting 40 Days for Life events -- and
they've set aside space for what they're calling the
40 Days Cafe. Coffee and other drinks are available –
and a nearby restaurant has donated food for breakfast
and lunch.

"This has been a very great blessing for all concerned,"
Linda said.

I was able to meet Linda and the 40 Days for Life team
in Fort Collins. Here's a link to the photo:

New FDA Report: Abortion Drug Kills 14 Women, Injures 2,200

http://www.lifenews.com/2011/07/12/new-fda-report-abortion-drug-kills-14-women-injures-2200/
The Food and Drug Administration has quietly released a new report about the deaths of and injuries to women from the dangerous RU 486 abortion drug and the Obama administration has done nothing to make the information available to women.

This is the first 40 Days for Life campaign in Fort Collins, and new volunteers are excited to have the opportunity to pray for an end to abortion.

“No matter how many rude gestures and remarks we got, we also received waves of support, honks of approval, even a friendly hello from a mom who slowed down enough for her two toddlers to see us,” said Maria, one of the vigil participants.

“It was truly a rewarding evening, knowing we have made an impact.”

Speaking of men joining the campaign, a local Knights of Columbus council prayed together at the Fort Collins vigil. I can’t say enough about the Knights and the strong, faithful support they continue to show for 40 Days for Life!

  February 14th: Vigil for Victims

On Monday February 14, Colorado participated in the "Vigil For Victims Of Underage Sex Trafficking"  by keeping vigil on the public sidewalk outside Planned Parenthood in Boulder, Denver and Fort Collins.

Approximately 25 vigil keepers were present in each location. Goals of the vigil were:

  • offer prayers for the unborn children, mothers, and victims of sex trafficking and abuse
  • protest the $363 million of tax dollars allocated yearly by the U.S. Congress
  • offer prayers that our legislators will act with justice

Dear Friends:

What happens when a cancer charity doesn't do its job of preventing breast cancer, but a right to life group does? The Denver Post reported on Wednesday, January 19, 2010 that Susan G. Komen for the Cure has canceled its 3-day walk in Denver, but not its 5K Race for the Cure. Look for a link to the story, "Komen cancels Denver's 3-Day for the Cure," after this message.

Komen blamed the economy and low participation in the 3-day walk for its poor success in Denver where only 800 people participated. According to the Denver Post, Komen's 3-day walk does quite well in San Diego, California where 4,000 participated this year, but the economy does not explain the poor turnout at Denver's 3-day walk. The unemployment rate in Colorado is 8.6%, but in California it's 12.4% - one of the highest in the nation. So what gives?

Colorado Right to Life volunteers have been educating citizens in the Denver area about the abortion-breast cancer link every year for the past ten years. Every year in the month of October, they bring their mobile billboard to Komen's Race for the Cure to do what Komen refuses to do - educate women about avoidable breast cancer risks - induced abortion and oral contraceptives (the birth control pill). Their billboard advertises the Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer's website, http://www. AbortionBreastCancer.com.

The Rest of the Article can be found here:
http://m.denverpost.com/ denverpost/db_21611/ contentdetail.htm?contentguid= QH09eoIo&src=cat&full=true# display

with particular note that: Planned Parenthood sells women cancer-causing induced abortions and oral contraceptives, and it is a primary cause of the nation's breast cancer epidemic. Planned Parenthood and Komen claim the funds are intended for breast cancer screenings, but it's highly irregular for a cancer group to expect Planned Parenthood to screen for the breast cancers it caused.
