YOU can help save lives!

This Lent, from March 9 - April 17, our community will be one of 243 cities reaching from coast to coast in the United States, as well as locations in Canada, England, Ireland, Australia, Belize, Spain, Georgia and Armenia, joining together for the 40 Days for Life campaign. This Lent's campaign represents a whopping 45% increase in locations compared with the Lent 2010 campaign. The Spirit is a-movin'!

This Lent, we in Great Falls, Montana, will be participating in our fourth 40 Days for Life campaign. Help us make it grow!

Take a stand for life

While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside the local abortion (or Planned Parenthood) facility. Visibility is important because:

1) While thousands of unborn babies die in abortions every day, very few people give abortion any thought at all. People standing in winter weather, praying and holding signs proclaiming that the mothers and fathers, as well as the babies, are the victims of abortion, help raise the awareness of all who drive by the vigil site.

2) Those struggling with deciding what to do about their pregnancy will see peaceful and caring people who believe that abortion is a destructive choice for them, thus strengthening the part of their thinking that wants to find a solution other than abortion.

3) According to St. Teresa of Avila, Christ has no body on earth now but ours. We are His hands, feet, voice, and the eyes through which He looks with compassion on those who suffer and who are tempted. When people are present keeping vigil, Christ can be seen and heard.
