What Really Matters About Abortion via Noolmusic.com

David Bereit - 40 Days for Life- April 3,2009
Dear Friends,
Toda ... Hvala ... Arigato ... Nandri ... Köszönöm ... Spasibo ... No matter the language, THANKS. Your support & kindness during this campaign were overwhelming.
1.) PRAYER, FASTING, & ALMSGIVING
Please pray:
for Scholastica who is scheduled for an abortion on 4/25 (and she is bipolar)
for Sabrina (#6) who chose life last week after our morning prayer vigil with David Bereit!
for Sara A, Sara B, Shannon, Shante, & Shea who chose life.
for Sam a young man who chose healing from lost fatherhood.
for Susanna a young woman who is beginning to heal after abortion.
If anyone has collected donations for the local 40 Days, please get your money to St Joan of Arc (see address below) so we can balance our books.
2.) PEACEFUL VIGIL
If you stood vigil but did not sign up on the calendar, PLEASE email me the total number of hours so I can make our report to national. I don't need dates or times, just one number of the hours for all your family & friends for the whole 40 days. AND if anyone would like to share a thought or comment to go with our report, send that along too.
3.) COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Rachel's Vineyard Retreats
Many of you have expressed a desire to get involved in Sidewalk Counseling (or have already been involved). Another aspect of abortion is the suffering men & women experience afterwards. Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat weekends help people heal from that experience. With support of our diocese we now offer 4 retreats a year. Please consider helping us help those who suffer.
Help by coming to the weekend retreat chapel & pray for all those who are involved in the retreat. This includes priests, deacons, counselors, cooks, workers, & other prayer warriors, but, especially for those attendees who have lost a loved one. The schedule is below. For the locations that are further out, you might consider asking a friend or family member to accompany you. More later on as we get closer to the dates.
May 1 - 3 Sparks, Maryland (just over the border, off Rte 83, about 70 minutes from Harrisburg)
July 17 – 19 Danville, Pa. (about 70 miles north of Harrisburg)
Oct 30 – Nov 1 Sparks, Maryland
Dec 3 - 5 Carlisle, Pa.
Help by volunteering to coordinate the schedule for the prayer warriors. It's a good way to get involved and the help is really needed.
Mechanicsburg Jubilee Day, June 18
This is the largest one day street fair on the east coast with 65,000 – 70,000 people coming to town. This will be the 8th year that the Saint Katharine Drexel Pro-Life team has had a Pro-Life presence at this event. This year will be our largest effort to reveal the truth about life. We started in 2001 with one simple booth where we handed out literature, fingerprinted children on pro-life book marks, and handed out hundreds of Pro-Life balloons. This year we will have 8 booths. We need help with logistics – men with trucks to help set up the booths (6:00am) & tear them down (6:00pm). We need people working the booths. We have a variety of themes to select from, so please let me know if you can help. High school & college students are especially welcome. The organizations that will be represented are:
Catholic Charities – Adoption Services (1 booth)
Legion of Mary – Catholic Apologists (1 booth)
Mater Dei – Latin Mass Community, inviting others to experience their faith in a new but old way (1 booth)
Morningstar Pregnancy Center – Harrisburg (1 booth)
Real Alternatives – state organization funding Crisis Pregnancy Centers (1 booth)
Silent no More – men & women publicly explaining how their abortions hurt them
St. Katharine Drexel Pro-Life Team (1 booth)
St. Katharine Drexel Knights of Columbus – premier sellers of hot dogs, soda, & water (2 booths)
Fall 40 Days for Life, Sep 23 - Nov 1
It's not to early to think ahead. If you would like to play a part in organizing a bigger & better campaign, let me know. We had only 5 time slots that were not "scheduled" on the calendar BUT they may have been covered. I will send out a copy of the final report that goes to national.

O GOD OF LIFE AND LOVE, You have given us the power to bring new life into the world. But all too often the mother's womb, that should be a nursery of life, becomes instead a place of it's destruction. Help us to remove this evil and ensure respect for all life made in Your image and likeness, called to fulfill its promise on this earth, and destined to find a home with you for all eternity. We ask this through Jesus Christ Your Son our Lord. AMEN.
A Pro-Life Prayer for Our President and Public Officials
Lord God, Author of Life and Source of Eternal Life, move the hearts of all our public officials and especially our President, to fulfill their responsibilities worthily and well to all those entrusted to their care. Help them in their special leadership roles, to extend the mantle of protection to the most vulnerable, especially the defenseless unborn, whose lives are threatened with extermination by an indifferent society. Guide all public officials by your wisdom and grace to cease supporting any law that fails to protect the fundamental good that is human life itself, which is a gift from God and parents. You are the Protector and Defender of the lives of the innocent unborn. Change the hearts of those who compromise the call to protect and defend life. Bring our nation to the values that have made us a great nation, a society that upholds the values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all. Mary, the Mother of the living, help us to bear witness to the Gospel of Life with our lives and our laws, through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
Imprimatur: January 22, 2009 + Most Reverend Robert J Baker, Bishop of Birmingham, AL
Little Infant of Prague, have mercy on us
Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us
Holy Innocents, watch over us
St. Gianna Beretta Molla, intercede for us
------------------------------------------------------

O Victorious Lady! Thou who has ever such powerful influence with Thy Divine Son, in conquering the hardest of hearts, intercede for those for whom we pray, that their hearts being softened by the rays of Divine Grace, they may come to know the Truth, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
The Battle of Lepanto - In 1571, the defeat of the Christians by the Ottoman Turks at Lepanto seemed imminent. Pope Pius V instructed Christians throughout Rome to call upon Our Lady. The great victory on October 7th, 1571 was attributed to Our Lady’s intercession. Pope Pius V instituted "Our Lady of Victory" as an annual Feast to commemorate the victory. Let us call upon Our Lady's Intercession for an end to Abortion!
