A unique approach to ending abortion From September 26 to November 4, 2012, our community will be one of many cities joining together for the 40 Days for Life campaign. 40 Days for Life is an intensive effort designed to raise awareness, save lives, bring healing, and lead our nation to repentance for the sin of abortion through three components: Christ told us that some demons can only be driven out by prayer and fasting. The two go hand in hand. Prayer keeps us rooted in the fact that it is our desire to carry out God's will. Fasting is a sacrifice that helps us reach beyond our own limitations with God's help. Fasting is not a Christian diet; it is a form of physical prayer. You can fast from food, TV, alcohol ... anything that separates you from God. 2. Spread the word The success of 40 Days for Life depends on the most powerful form of advertising in the world -- word of mouth. Participate in the peaceful vigil as an individual You can help make a life-saving impact by joining our local vigil at: The vigil is peaceful; participants sign a "Statement of Peace" with a pledge that they will conduct themselves in a Christ-like manner. All people are welcome! 6. "ADOPT A DAY" as a church, prayer group or school Other cities such as Toronto and Ottawa ran highly successful 40 Days For Life campaigns by getting individual churches to take on the challenge of covering a full 24-hour period.
1. Pray and fast
Each day between now and the end of the campaign, please commit to pray and fast for the nationwide effort, and for the efforts here in the tri-cities area of K-W and Cambridge. The vigil will be held 14 hours / day, 7 days a week for the 40 day campaign. Vigil hours are from 6am - 8pm daily.

Sign up to participate in our local 40 Days for Life vigil by clicking the "Vigil Schedule" link at the top of this page. We invite you to donate 1 hour or more of prayer and fasting outside the facility where all abortions in the K-W and Cambridge area are committed. You choose the timeslot(s) that fit your schedule. We hope you can especially try to donate timeslots on the vigil calendar where nobody is signed up (indicated in red) or where only 1 person is signed up (indicated in yellow).
If your congregation or parish is small, consider taking a 12 hour period during a specific day and commit to covering all hours during that timeslot.
