This fall, from September 24 - November 2, our community was one of 173 cities in 45 states who joined together for the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history -- the 40 Days for Life campaign.

While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside the local abortion (or Planned Parenthood) facility.

THANK YOU for all you have done to bless Burt Rd. with your sacrifices, presence, and prayers. Lexington's 40 Days for Life Perpetual Vigil has been an extraordinary experience. We have had a 24/7 coverage at EMW, with at least one person signed up for every hour. Thank you! 300-500 participants committed to pray and fast during this past 40 Days vigil. Our 40 Days family has united people from all walks of life, from different faiths. Many travelled from other counties, in the middle of the night, to pray! Thank you. Our mid-way gathering united over 250 people across from EMW to share in the Most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with our faithful shepherd, Bishop Ronald Gainer. What a beautiful morning it was - full of hope and friendship! These sacrifices of time and comfort are how we are called to adapt our personal lifestyles in order to serve the greater good for all women and children. Abortion always takes the life of a person from the womb - the baby is always a person, from the point of fertilization. We pray for the mothers, the fathers, the unborn persons, the generations of people who need our unconditional and constant love - no matter their personal circumstance. We pray for the workers at PPFA and EMW to open their hearts and minds to truth, to hold fast to what is lovely. Life is real, let us encourage one another to approach all human life with a compassionate embrace. Let us pray for those who struggle - there is hope and help for everyone. Our Lexington area team members have signed on to continue a 40 hour/week vigil until EMW closes and women are spared the tragedy and abandonment from abortion. Contact me for details.
