YOU CAN HELP SAVE LIVES!
From February 17- March 28, Memphis will be uniting with cities again from coast to coast for a simultaneous pro-life mobilization - the nationwide 40 Days for Life campaign! In 154 American cities, 5 Canadian provinces, and Australia, thousands will be praying and fasting for an end to abortion. Faithful believers are praying that this effort will mark the beginning of the end of this tragedy in our city and in America!
The Campaign
40 Days for Life is a community-based campaign that draws attention to the evil of abortion through the use of a three-component program:
+ Prayer and Fasting: inviting people of faith throughout the city to join together for 40 days of fervent prayer and fasting for an end to abortion!
+ Constant Vigil: standing for life through a 40-day peaceful public witness outside Planned Parenthood, at 1407 Union Avenue. (Please note the vigil site will change to the new Planned Parenthood location during the campaign).
+ Community Outreach: taking a positive, upbeat pro-life message to every corner of the city through grassroots door-to-door advocacy, church presentations, and public visibility
40 Days for Life takes a determined, peaceful, and lawful approach to showing local communities the consequences of abortion in their own neighborhoods, and it puts into action a desire to cooperate with God in the carrying out of His plan for the end of abortion in America.
The campaign parallels Biblical history, where God used 40-day periods to transform individuals, communities... and the entire world. From Noah in the flood to Moses on the mountain to the disciples after Christ's resurrection, it is clear that God sees the transformative value of His people accepting and meeting a 40-day challenge.
