Moments at the SIDEWALK

I was praying at the sidewalk with my daughter Jennifer Marie and it was a very sad day.  Dissappointed,  I was telling our Lord that I did not think I made a difference at the sidewalk.  (See, people that day were coming in and out ignoring us .  Then as the door in front opened, they were  coming out crying as they walked out  to their car and drove away. ) After I what I just said to the Lord with my head down low.....  a dark SUV came and slowy parked at the curb behind me.  ( right on the street)  My daughter looked at me and I at her.  I looked over and there as the window was coming down was a elderly lady with an oxygen tube attached under her nose sitting at the driver seat.  She waved me to come over, so I did.  She told me she wanted to say thank us for what we all do at the sidewalk.  She drives by all the time and never could have the nerve to stop.  I looked at her and said thank you .   Then she started to tell me her story..... Back in the 1950's she became pregnant and was not married.  Her mother never showed any anger about it.  Just one day they were driving and her mother took some long crazy roads to a nurse's house and made her get an abortion.  I started to see the tears run down her face ...... as she kept talking about it and all the years that went by........she carried that guilt and hurt .  Then at that moment I realized she was letting go and needed me to listen, pray , and be there for her.  My daughter was right there and was very quiet just listening to us.  When we were done, I offered her some info about healing and the resources that were out there for her.  I even offered to take her across the street to Women's Resource Center.  She said no, she is too old for that.  I said no it is about closure and healing.  She told me, " you just did that with me".  WE hugged and cried together and then she drove away.  I will never forget that day, I do not think my oldest daughter Jennifer will forget it either.  That was the day that Jesus told me "I need you at the sidewalk!"  " EVERYONE MAKES A DIFFERENCE AT THE SIDEWALK"
Pray for those days when the devil wants us to think that we are not needed at the sidewalk.  Pray for those women and men who want to tell us their story and need healing and help.

God Bless and Hugs,
