YOU can help save lives!

Upcoming Pittsburgh area 40 Days for Life Campaign

This coming Lenten Season, from February 22nd to April 1st, our community will be one of more than 200 cities in North America – and beyond – that will join together for the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history -- the 40 Days for Life campaign.

40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life effort that consists of:

  • 40 days of prayer and fasting
  • 40 days of peaceful vigil
  • 40 days of community outreach

We are praying that, with God's help, this groundbreaking effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city -- and throughout America.

Take a stand for life

While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside the local abortion (or Planned Parenthood) facility.

You can help make a life-saving impact by joining our local vigil at:

Planned Parenthood
933 Liberty Avenue Downtown
Pittsburgh, PA   15222

This is at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and Smithfield Street. Metered parking is available from 9a-4p Monday thru Saturday. After 6pm Monday thru Saturday and all day Sunday you can park right in front of the clinic!

There is a parking lot on 9th street between Liberty and Penn Avenues and a parking garage at 9th Street and Liberty Avenue.

Sign up to participate individually in our local 40 Days for Life vigil by clicking the "Vigil Schedule" link at the top of this page. If you wish to sign up your group to participate in the vigil for a 4-hour "shift," please click on the link to the "List of Participating Churches" (below) to see which shifts are still available, and either call or email Nikki Bruni (contact info listed below) with your desired shift.

The vigil is peaceful; participants sign a "Statement of Peace" with a pledge that they will conduct themselves in a Christ-like manner. All people are welcome!

Need to be motivated? Watch this video by David Bereit, co-founder of 40 Days for Life making the case for you to get involved and continue to come out to the Planned Parenthood at 933 Liberty Avenue until that abortion facility is closed.
