This Spring, from February 25 - April 5, our community will be one of many from across the United States and beyond joining together for the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history -- the 40 Days for Life campaign.
40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life effort that consists of:

40 days of prayer and fasting

40 days of peaceful vigil
-
40 days of community outreach
We are praying that, with God's help, this groundbreaking effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in our city -- and throughout America.
Take a stand for life
While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside the local abortion (or Planned Parenthood) facility.

The Spring Campaign Is Underway!
We are again gathering to Pray to End Abortion. This campaign promises to be the best yet, as we have had new churches step forward to participate in this ecumenical, non-denominational prayer campaign. If you would like to involve your church in the effort, please contact us for more information.
We do not come to the sidewalk to judge, for we know, that there, but for the Grace of God go I. We know that even our faith in the Lord is a gift, given to us. Granted, we have accepted this gift, but it is a gift all the same. We come to the sidewalk to pray for grace upon this dark corner of our community. Won't you join us as we bring the Love of Christ to the sidewalk in front of the abortion site.
If you do join us, please sign the Statement of Peace and DO NOT TOUCH THE FENCE surrounding the Reno abortion site. It is on private property (the ground towards the fence from the edge of the sidewalk apparently belongs to the abortion site.) If you go to the vigil site in Carson City, please stay on public property out at the sidewalk on Mica Drive, as the abortion facility is set back on private property.

The 2008 Fall Campaign was Successful Nationwide!
As we made our humble effort locally, we were joined in a national campaign to Pray to End Abortion. This campaign has demonstrated incredible success around the nation, and modest successes locally. Here in the Reno/Tahoe region, we have 2 known saves, two lives that would have been lost otherwise. For me, all the effort that went into holding a campaign would have been worth it just to know a single life was spared, that one woman will not spend the remainder of her life in regret for making this decision. But in addition to the two lives that have been spared, we have seen a marked growth in the number of people committed to speaking out against abortion, to publicly declaring their pro-life stance. And nationally, the results have been impressive. Take a moment to view this brief video that highlights a few of the accomplishments of the 40 Days for Life effort.
