Individual Participation
Give an hour, save a life! It could be just that simple. Join us in this effort. Prayer at the sidewalk is the most powerful tool for helping to save the innocent lives lost at the abortion site. If you're uncertain what to expect when going out to the abortion site, take a moment, review our Vigil Volunteer Workshop slideshow, with links to videos that will show you how it's done in Illinois.
Church Participation
The Adopt a Day Program allows your church to come together to the sidewalk, bringing with you your unique style of prayer as you answer Jesus's call to cover this place with His Love. When you're ready to step forward, contact us at: 40DaysforLifeRenoTahoe@gmail.com, we'll find the next available day on the vigil schedule day and work with you to provide the tools to make it as easy as possible to include your church members in this historic campaign, as we bring about the Beginning of the End of Abortion. Constant Vigil Guidelines and Tips
Offer Christ's Love
When you join us at the Vigil, we ask that you come prepared to give a positive witness to the Love of Christ, even in this dark corner of our community. We do not come to the sidewalk to judge, for we know that
"There, but for the Grace of God, go I."
We know that even our faith in the Lord is a gift, given to us by the Father. Granted, we have accepted this gift, but it is a gift all the same. We come to the sidewalk to pray for grace that hearts may be changed and lives saved. Won't you join us as we bring the Love of Christ to the sidewalk in front of the abortion site?
Towards this end, we ask that you review our Vigil Etiquette Guidelines and sign the Statement of Peace (online Statement of Peace) (printable Statement of Peace).

If you do join us, please sign the Statement of Peace and DO NOT TOUCH THE FENCE surrounding the Reno abortion site. It is on private property (the ground towards the fence from the edge of the sidewalk apparently belongs to the abortion site.) If you go to the vigil site in Carson City, please stay on public property out at the sidewalk on Mica Drive, as the abortion facility is set back on private property.
Sidewalk Counseling
While conducting our Constant Vigil, some are called to engage in Sidewalk Counseling—others are called to cover the abortion site in prayer. If you believe you'd like to attempt to talk to the women entering the abortion site, you'll want to be prepared with information regarding the local resources that are available to them if they choose life.
Our Sidewalk Counselor's Workshop will prepare you to be effective in this effort. For more information, download our flyer. We are willing to offer this workshop for churches or groups—simply contact us to make arrangements. If there is sufficient individual interest we will hold another public workshop.
Prepare for the Weather
Be prepared for the weather that you may encounter, dressing appropriately to ensure that you are comfortable during your shift. Know that while it gets cold here, the vigils have been conducted in below zero temperatures. The key to a successful shift is dressing for the elements. See the ideas provided by Pro-Life Action Ministries of Minnesota in "It's Not Cold: It's Just Inadequate Clothing!"
Locations
While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside the local abortion (or Planned Parenthood) facility.

The Vigil hours in Reno are 7 am - 7 pm, 7 days per week. These are the hours we are focused on filling first. If, however, you would like to come pray at an hour outside these times, it is your right to Free Speech to do so whenever you choose to come. Prayers are always a blessing, so come leave a prayer at the sidewalk.

The vigil hours in Carson City are currently held during the normal business hours when Planned Parenthood is open, which is Monday 11am-7pm Wed 11am-3pm and Thursday 9am-5pm.
