Day 36

Prayer is required in the pro-life movement. If we just run out the door to try to save the world, we're only going to make it about 10 minutes. Abortion is overwhelming; but when we have prayer, and not ourselves, as the foundation ... our faith in Christ really can move mountains. When we ask people if they've experienced spiritual growth through their participation in 40 Days for life, the answer is an overwhelming “YES!”

Sometimes it is expected. Sometimes it's not. Of course ... we pray, hope and act to save babies, help women and show mercy to abortion workers. But most often, it is our own hearts that our Lord is working on during these 40 days.

Day 28

FOR LIFE AND LIBERTY

Day 24 Campaign Update

Bob Dodick, Co-Chair of the local 40 Days for Life declares this year’s campaign is an amazing and huge success.  Thank you to all the faithful who have prayed, not only those on the calendar, but the more than a hundred people who have dropped by to pray, meals provided or those who prayed at home!  There have been 4 confirmed and 9 unconfirmed rescues.   

 Day 23 Brings Many Blessings

A mother from Alpena brings daughter to the airport and decides to pray at the local 40 Days for Life location. 

Sr. Beatrice of St. Stanislaus Parish, Bay City visit elderly woman before she comes to pray and discovers she is praying with the daughter of the woman!

In a recent talk during this 40 Days for Life campaign, Shawn Carney mentioned that the pro-life movement is made up of sinners.  We are all sinners ... and the pro-life effort includes many who have had abortions, doctors who have done abortions and thousands who at one point sincerely defended abortion but are now pro-life. Many know the pain of abortion -- including men.  After his talk, a man with passion in his face and tears in his eyes shook Shawn's hand and shared how his past sin of abortion is still deep in his heart.

Men can play a large role in an abortion. They can abandon women when they hear they're pregnant. They can encourage, and many times pay for, the abortion.  Their mistakes are real, but so is their pain. Other fathers are told they have no rights, no voice ... and they can do nothing to stop an abortion. And

that, too, can hurt deeply.  LET US PRAYER FOR THE HEALING OF FATHERHOOD!
