Important Guidelines for the 40 Days for Life Vigil – San Jose
Please stand and pray only in the public right-of-way (sidewalk) outside Planned Parenthood at 1691 The Alameda, San Jose, CA 95126.
- Do not step onto Planned Parenthood property.
- Do not park in the Planned Parenthood parking lot or the adjacent YMCA lot.
- Use legal street parking only.
Vigil Hours Daily: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
First time praying at Planned Parenthood? We encourage you to bring a friend or fellow parishioner for support, or join during scheduled group prayer times when others are more likely to be present. Note: The Legion of Mary – Vietnamese group prays every week throughout the year.
Vision and Mission of 40 Days for Life
- Vision: To access God’s power through prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil to end abortion.
- Mission: To unite the Body of Christ in a spirit of repentance and unity during a focused 40-day campaign of prayer, fasting, and peaceful witness—seeking God’s favor to turn hearts and minds from a culture of death to a culture of life, and thus bring an end to abortion.
Our Goals
- To fill every day and time slot with prayerful, peaceful prayer warriors throughout the campaign (see our local events below for details).
- To encourage every parish in our diocese to participate by designating a peaceful prayer day with a specific date and time listed on our calendar.
