What will you do to stop the silent Holocaust?
From September 28 to November 6, the Sioux City community will join teams from coast to coast in the United States - as well as teams in Canada, Australia and Northern Ireland - in the dynamic 40 Days for Life campaign.
40 Days for Life is a dynamic pro-life effort that consists of:
The power of this campaign and prayers like yours is evident. In the Fall 2009 campaign over 600 babies were saved, 3 abortion clinics closed and 8 abortion workers left their jobs including Abby Johnson, former director of the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Bryan/College Station, Texas ... the community where 40 Days for Life began.
Since the effort began in 2007 over 2,800 babies have been saved but there is still more to do, including right here in Siouxland. It is estimated that over 400 babies are killed at the planned parenthood office in Sioux City each year! We must continue with our efforts and not lose the momentum we've gained in past campaigns.
What can you do............Take a stand for life!
While all aspects of 40 Days for Life are crucial in our effort to end abortion, the most visible component is the peaceful prayer vigil outside the local abortion (or Planned Parenthood) facility.

Prayer and fasting are the driving forces of 40 Days for Life. Consider how you can take part in the following:
· Include a petition for an end to abortion in your daily prayer
· Offer extra masses for an end to abortion
· Participate in Eucharistic Adoration
· Fast or give up your favorite food, beverage or activity
· Give of your time and talent-volunteer or give to the less fortunate
