Planned Parenthood director quits job in Bryan, Texas
During the fall 40 Days for Life campaign, the director of the Planned Parenthood abortion center in Bryan/College Station, Texas resigned her job.
Abby Johnson had worked at the clinic for eight years, but departed from the facility following a profound change of heart about abortion.
The Planned Parenthood clinic was the location of the first-ever 40 Days for Life campaign in the fall of 2004, and the prayer and fasting initiative has been held outside the doors of Johnson’s former workplace five additional times
Shawn Carney (shown above with Abby Johnson outside the Planned Parenthood abortion facility where she used to work), the director of the Coalition for Life and a 40 Days for Life board member, has been working with Johnson since she left her job last month. The former clinic director has even begun to pray outside the clinic where she formerly worked. More...
With a very brief legal notice in the local newspaper, a Pensacola, Florida abortion facility quietly announced its closing. The clinic has been the site of three 40 Days for Life prayer vigils, including one that just concluded on November 1.
The notice read, "As of October 30, 2009, The Community Health Center of Pensacola will be terminating its practice."
"There had been an abortion clinic in that location for 25 years," said David Bereit, national director of 40 Days for Life. "People have prayed there that abortions would cease, and it was during the fall 40 Days for Life campaign - the peaceful, prayerful presence of faithful Christians - that it was finally announced that this facility, where untold numbers of unborn children perished, was closing. That is not just a coincidence. God works in mysterious ways, and this is indeed an answer to prayer!"
This is the fifth closure of an abortion facility that has been the site of a 40 Days for Life vigil. More...

40 Days for Life in America's abortion capital New York City
Shawn Carney, the 40 Days for Life campaign director, recently visited 40 Days for Life campaigns New York City. Shawn made a short video account of his visit to the 40 Days for Life campaign in the city labeled “the abortion capital of America.”
You'll hear from a volunteer who puts in 6 to 10 hours every day outside of two of the largest abortion centers in the United States, and see hundreds of passers-by receiving a pro-life education on the street. The video is loud. Everything’s in motion. It’s got attitude. But hey — it’s New York City!

We know of eight more abortion center employees who have quit their jobs – and we're praying for others who are considering it.
