Notes

Thank you for your commitment to participate in our mission of ending abortion in Houston prayerfully and peacefully through our ministry of stand and pray outside of the largest abortion facility in the Western Hemisphere.

Public right-of-way outside
Planned Parenthood
4600 Gulf Freeway
Houston, Texas

We are committed to supporting a 40 Days for Life Campaign for the Fall 2023 for all volunteers who would like to continue to pray at the vigil site, for an end to abortion. Since Roe v Wade was overturned, Planned Parenthood and other Houston abortion facilities are still seeing women seeking abortion, providing ultrasounds in order to refer them out of state for their abortion procedures. Your prayful presence continues to be essential.

We encourage you to bring people to come out to pray. Please call me at (713) 395-1330 or email me at flor@houstoncoalition.com to participate as a Day Captain and invite your chuch group, friends, and family to sign up for hours on this Calendar.

There are really only "5 rules" for the sidewalk:

(1) Do not park or walk on Planned Parenthood property or any other private property.

(2) If anyone approaches you, respond with the love of Christ.

(3) If you want to hold a sign, please request one provided by Houston Coalition for Life.

(4) Please focus on staying in a mode of prayer while you are out there.

(5) Please sign the Statement of Peace*. ( you can still use the Statement of Peace on this website)

It has always been encouraged for people to spread out and focus the prayer towards the abortion facility. Unless you are a trained sidewalk couselor, we please ask you to remain in prayer. If you are interested in becoming a sidewalk counselor, please send me an email at flor@houstoncoalition.com. Sidewalk Counselor trainings are offered every month.

If a pregnant woman has questions about abortion, you can always refer them to our Big Blue Bus, or our main office at (713) 395-1330 to speak with our nurses.

On the Houston Coalition for Life website you can see more information about our mobile crisis pregnancy centers that offer free pregnancy tests, free ultrasounds, and free resources to pregnant women outside of  Planned Parenthood: http://www.houstoncoalition.com/the-big-blue-bus

** DIRECTIONS: We have found that most people have trouble finding the entrance to Planned Parenthood, but they don’t have trouble finding the Catholic Charismatic Center (1949 Cullen Blvd, Houston, TX 77023).

From the Catholic Charismatic Center you would go under the freeway to the intersection of I45 and Cullen. Then head South bound on the feeder road of I45.

When the I45S feeder road splits, take a slight LEFT over the over-pass.

(Please keep in mind that the speed limit going over the overpass is 40mph and there are several officers who pull people over right there.)

Then turn RIGHT at the bottom of overpass onto Eleanor Tinsley Way.

Then turn RIGHT onto Gulf Crest.

**PARKING: Please parallel park along Gulf Crest or along Eleanor Tinsley Way.

It is true that anyone of any age can come pray on the sidewalk as they would in their room or anywhere else, yet so few actually do. And each person offers a unique prayer and unique perspective as they beg God to have mercy on this country and end abortion!  Each one witnesses to the dignity of the human life where it is so brutally denied.

Questions? Please contact Houston Coalition for Life Staff (713) 395-1330 and women can contact the Big Blue Bus: (832) 244-8724
