What to expect:
The sidwalk is open to us. We cannot block the entryway or driveway. The security guard might shadow you, however, they're generally respectful kind and easy to work with. They generally do not speak to us. Do not worry that you are breaking any rules/laws as long as you stay on the city sidewalk.
The majority of people entering and exiting Planned Parenthood are polite or silent. You do not need to speak to anyone outside of good morning/afternoon said with the loving smile of Christ. If you are called to speak, it is always recommended to call upon the Holy Spirit and ask for His words to fill your conversation.
There are those who will drive by and say things or give you the bird, in these cases do not respond in kind. Call to mind the words our Lord taught us, "Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you." Matthew 5:11-12
We have not experienced violence. That being said, if anyone ever feels unsafe, simply leave.
You are invited to come any time. I (Pam, campaign leader) am there Wed. & Fri. from 7:30 am to 10:30. Other sidewalk counselors and Prayer Warriors come on Mon., Tues., & Thursday from 7:30-11:30. The more people we have on the sidewalk the more a person thinks before they enter the facility. Prayer is VERY POWERFUL. The statistics show that if we are there in front of the clinic, praying, there is up to a 75% cancellation of/ or no-shows for appointments for abortion! If you feel that abortion needs to be stopped, you can be a part of the solution!
