Abortions took place for 27 years at Amethyst Health Center for Women in Manassas. But that all ended late last month.

Through heat, rain and snow ? faithful volunteers had prayed outside that facility for years ? prayer that included fourteen 40 Days for Life campaigns.

This past Sunday, volunteers gathered for prayer at Amethyst one more time ? and 40 Days for Life?s national director, David Bereit, shared some words of appreciation for all that had been done to bring about this victory, and thanked all those who had helped coordinate 40 Days for Life campaigns over the years for their leadership.

Mike Baldwin, the current local director, has invited the Manassas volunteers to continue praying. There are other 40 Days for Life vigils taking place in Northern Virginia ? and he saidthere remains a need for prayer in Manassas. He?s asking people to keep ?praying for protection against another abortion center opening up in our area.?

With 40 Days for Life, David wears many hats. Prior to joining the 40 Days for Life team, he was an award-winning radio and TV journalist. He has also served as a board member for a pregnancy help center and as publications director for a major national pro-life organization.
