Important Reminders for the 40 Days for Life Bangor, Maine

  1. For information on where to park, stand, pick up signs, please email: nonie04lj@msn.com and request "Logistics."
  2. Before you can participate with 40 Days for Life, you need to sign a Statement of Peace. Copies are in the grey plastic bin; completed forms are retrieved every evening.
  3. We suggest that you pray at the vigil site with at least one other person. There is safety in numbers.
  4. We do not encourage crossing Mt. Hope Avenue to post "Pray to End Abortion" signs, for safety reasons.
  5. What we are doing is legal, we are standing in a public right-of-way.
  6. A permit is on file with the City of Bangor, Parks & Recreation and we have been cautioned not to block the visibility of vehicles leaving 700 Mt. Hope Avenue with any of our signs-vehicles-people.
  7. Smile, be polite, respectful; you can even offer an open-handed wave.
  8. We encourage you to hold positive, life-affirming signs. We have “Pray to End Abortion” signs.
  9. Please have a cell phone with you to be able to call in an emergency and to document any issue. If you feel unsafe at any time please go to a safe place, such as your car. Report any incidents to the police and report it to us as well.
  10. Please be aware that there are no sidewalks (we pray in the public right-of-way alongside Mt. Hope Avenue) and keep your children safe if you decide to bring them.
  11. Please sign up for your hours on the website vigil calendar. If you need assistance, email us at nonie04lj@msn.com.
  12. You can also sign up for vigil hours or email us after you have prayed so that our campaign can note vigil coverage.
