The case for abortion always comes down to eugenics--the notion that some lives aren't worthy of life.
It's a worldview rooted in despair, which shows that your presence in front of your local abortion facility is needed to send the message that every human life is worth living.
Carolyn with the Woodstock, Illinois, 40 Days for Life campaign began this vigil in Colorado, celebrating a very special milestone: her grandson Paul's 40th day outside the womb.
"With a diagnosis of trisomy 18, he wasn't expected to make it to term or live long past birth," wrote Mary, the Woodstock campaign leader. "But Anthony and Erin's Catholic faith led them to let God be in charge and love their son for as long as God gives them to do so."
Anthony and Erin are cherishing every moment with their son, as prayer shifted their initial anger over a diagnosis considered "incompatible with life" to joy.
"How blessed are we that God chose us to give life to and love this baby?" Erin asked. "God is entrusting us with a baby that He can do something incredible with."
The Lord is already doing something powerful with Baby Paul's life.
"It has been a roller coaster of emotions, but every step of the way we have seen God's miraculous works," Erin continued. "From medical improvements, increased faith, strengthening of our marriage, and hope shared with others, we look at our baby and say, 'Look what God can do!'"

Nottingham, England

Your prayers at a 40 Days for Life vigil save lives from abortion.
But that's not all you accomplish. Ultimately, this mission is about evangelization--winning souls for Jesus Christ.
That's why we don't just pray from the comfort of our homes or our churches. Public witness touches hearts.
"We were approached by a young man who was very eager to debate," said John, the Nottingham vigil leader. "He said he wished he could believe in God."
The Lord will not abandon those who seek Him with a sincere heart, so let's join John and the Nottingham team in praying that the young man comes to know Jesus.
Chico, California

The Chico team held an educational event featuring a student speaker from California State University, Chico.
"Sydney leads a pro-life group on campus," said Mary, the local campaign leader. "She spoke about how they engage people in discussions."
Sydney's group hosts informational tables on campus to spur dialogue.
It sounds like she and her teammates would be great candidates to apply for our 4040 Scholarship: 40daysforlife.com/scholarship

Then the devil took him up to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in their magnificence, and he said to him, "All these I shall give to you, if you will prostrate yourself and worship me.”
--Matthew 4:8-9
Lord, help each of us overcome the temptation of discouragement. Give us the perseverance to follow your will and remember that you hear our prayers even when we don’t see the results. If it is your will, use us to save more lives than we will know in this lifetime. Amen.
