Iztapalapa, Mexico

40 Days for Life volunteers in Iztapalapa have now seen a THIRD abortion facility close for good!
The first, a Marie Stopes facility, closed permanently in 2018 after seven consecutive vigils. The second moved to a different location before going out of business in 2022.
The third didn't go quietly. Staff members insulted and threatened the volunteers and even broke a participant's rosary. But they kept going!
This fall, the campaign team noticed the place had gone quiet and was actually being dismantled!
Mexico's federal health regulator now categorizes the abortion facility as a "Total and Permanent Closure," and the center confirmed that it won't reopen or relocate.
"Thank God, no more innocent people will die in that place. Prayer and presence do save lives!" Paulina said.
Arequipa, Peru

Pro-lifers are celebrating the first facility to go out of business in Peru following a 40 Days for Life campaign.
During four years of vigils, abortion advocates tried to intimidate prayer warriors by taking their photographs and making provocative comments, but the volunteers kept praying peacefully for the conversion of everyone involved.
The center hasn't been open for business in nearly a year, but Susan, the Peruvian 40 Days for Life national leader, finally confirmed that it has been removed from the chain's list of locations!
"We consider this a definitive closure and a blessing: a tangible answer from God to the prayers of those who persevered for four years," Susan said.
Torrance, California

The abortion facility in Torrance isn't closed--yet--but a growing volunteer base looks to change that.
"We had four new people join us this week to pray on the sidewalk," wrote Patty, who is leading her first campaign.
And the reinforcements kept coming. "We were blessed by 18 seminarians, who joined us Saturday from Queen of Angels seminary," she continued. "They prayed and sang hymns. It felt like a platoon was sent by St. Michael."

And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me. … See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father.”
--Matthew 18:5, 10
Lord, keep every child free from harm. Especially in moments of despair, help them to sense the presence of your angels watching over them. Provide a loving home for every child in need, and strengthen and sustain adoptive and foster parents to imitate your fatherly care. Amen.
