Beaverton, Oregon
A young woman crossing the parking lot of the Beaverton Planned Parenthood told 40 Days for Life volunteers she just wanted to find out how far along she was.
The volunteers invited her to a nearby pregnancy help center. She agreed to go with them and received an ultrasound right away.
"She was so young and terrified of how her mother might react," wrote Therese, the longtime campaign leader.
Vigil participants sat with her and assured her that she is not alone.
"She felt surrounded by care," Therese continued. "You could see a quiet courage begin to lift the fear in her eyes."
Concepción, Argentina
A woman on her way to abort her fourth child silently prayed for a sign.
When she arrived at her appointment, she got one: 40 Days for Life volunteers praying with signs that read, "Pray for the end of abortion."
The expectant mother stopped, shared her story, thanked prayer warriors for being there, and said "yes" to life!
Norristown, Pennsylvania
A young woman walked past two 40 Days for Life volunteers holding a sign that read, "Ask Me About a Free Ultrasound" and then returned to ask, "What is an ultrasound?"
She was in the early stages of pregnancy, and her boyfriend's parents were pressuring her to have an abortion. Bonnie, John, and Jesse told her about pregnancy help centers and adoption.
She said she would do what's right and have the baby!
"The volunteers were grateful that they had the correct sign, which spoke to [her]," wrote Helen, the Norristown 40 Days for Life leader.
Bishop Joseph Coffey also came to the Norristown vigil, where he prayed with more than 30 prayer warriors. He has been active in the pro-life movement since he was 13!
Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe." Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

Dear Jesus, thank you for the ways that science helps us to better see and know your creation. Please lead every expectant mother to a place that will enable her to see her child with an ultrasound. Grant her the simplicity to see the humanity in her womb and the courage to protect it. Amen.
