"Why don't you go help kids who've already been born?"

Spend enough time at a 40 Days for Life vigil, and you're bound to hear some tired version of this unimaginative question. Nobody proclaims concern about poverty, war, and the environment more loudly than an abortion supporter whose conscience is touched by your presence at an abortion facility.

Nancy in Plattsburgh, New York couldn't help but to chuckle when a passerby asked her, "Wouldn't you do better to work with foster kids?"

Nancy replied, "Bingo, brother--that's exactly what I do!"

When she's not leading the campaign in Plattsburgh, Nancy serves as a community service provider for foster children, visiting their homes, bringing them into the community, and helping them set goals for their futures.

Nancy said she's seen more criticism from abortion advocates this year. It's a sign that her prayers are having an impact!

Las Vegas, Nevada

Ken in Las Vegas reported a middle-aged man drove a young girl to the abortion facility...but just as quickly as the car arrived, it left! "We believe a life was spared today!" Ken said.

A similar scene played out just moments later when a couple parked their car. After 10 minutes of anguished crying, the couple drove away without entering the abortion facility.

Birmingham, Alabama

The Planned Parenthood in Birmingham, Alabama hasn't taken the life of a single child in the last two years.

To say the facility has a troubled history would be putting it lightly. It was once temporarily closed after employees were caught illegally selling prescription drugs in the Planned Parenthood parking lot.

But now Planned Parenthood is looking to open a new facility and resume abortions. The local community is springing into action. 150 people attended the kickoff rally.

"Pro-life people are praying to shut down Planned Parenthood completely in the metropolitan area of Birmingham," said Ed, the local leader.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.

—Luke 4:18-19

Lord, send us to the poorest, the most broken, the most captive, the most blind and the most oppressed in the world, the innocent pre-born children in their mother’s wombs that are scheduled for destruction. Help us to bring them healing, liberty, sight and justice through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
