In Luke's Gospel, we hear how John the Baptist leapt for joy in the womb of Elizabeth, because of the presence of Jesus in the womb of Mary. This was shortly after Jesus had been conceived. Abortion takes the life of an innocent human being.
Baby’s heart beat can be detected 5 weeks after conception and by 12 weeks, fingers and toes are fully formed

40 Days For Life is a peaceful prayer vigil and public witness outside or near abortion centres worldwide.The Leeds vigil is just over 150 metres from MSI Leeds. This complies with the current buffer zone law. Since 2007 over 26,000 babies and their mothers have been saved from the tragedy of abortion and many others have been helped on the journey of reconciliation and healing following their abortion.
Two incidents of many encounters outside the facility:-
Father stopped in car with 1 year old child. He thanked volunteers for being there a year ago when mum was considering abortion but changed her mind after seeing volunteers praying there.
Young woman came past. In conversation she said “I wish you were here four years ago when I was forced to have an abortion”
Please consider coming along to join us between 7am-7pm (September 23rd to November 1st) Help us to be the last sign of hope and the first sign of mercy to those seeking or to those who have had abortions. Come and be a voice for the voiceless. We can arrange for someone to go with you to the vigil if it is your first time.
Volunteers are asked to sign up to a Statement of Peace agreeing to only pursue peaceful solutions to the violence of abortion when volunteering with the 40 Days for Life campaign and to show compassion and reflect Christ’s love to all including abortion facility employees, volunteers, and customers.
