A young woman pulled up to the 40 Days for Life vigil in Fayetteville, North Carolina to talk with a vigil participant.

"I just wanted to show you my miracle baby. She’s now four years old," the woman said. "When I was pregnant, I was scheduled to come here for an abortion."

At the time, the little girl's father had just left the family, and the woman thought abortion was her only option.

"I saw you guys standing out here and I chose LIFE instead," the mother continued. "Now, I’m married with four children. What y'all do out here makes a difference!"

The encounter was a powerful reminder that God answers prayers--even if we don't always see it right away.

"Standing and holding a sign doesn’t seem like much, but we have no idea the impact we have on those who see us," said the local leadership team.

Sometimes it takes months--or even years--to learn that your presence made an impact. But moms and dads are returning to 40 Days for Life vigils around the world to say "thank you" to prayer warriors for saving their babies!

Zagreb, Croatia

A married couple in Zagreb was advised to have an abortion after their unborn baby was diagnosed with disabilities...

...but when they arrived to their abortion appointment, they saw people praying and went home!

The child's father recently went to the vigil to share his testimony with prayer volunteers.

"Their baby girl already walks and runs," reported the Zagreb team. "People praying outside saved his daughter’s life."

Mount Vernon, Washington

"Have you ever seen a photo of a baby saved by your prayers?" a woman asked Cynthia after a 40 Days for Life presentation at a home church.

"No," Cynthia replied.

That was about to change.

"She showed me a photo of a beautiful two-year-old and told me we saved that baby," Cynthia reported. "Her daughter had scheduled an abortion and decided against it. This woman insisted it was because of our prayers in front of Planned Parenthood."

Cynthia added that the abortion giant has cycled through several abortion doctors over the last few years.

"Prayer is never in vain," Cynthia said. "Opportunities for prayer are important every day."

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

Psalm 127:3-5

Heavenly Father, please keep me from taking for granted the gift of children. Help us to remember this heritage that you have given us. Make us faithful stewards of these precious lives, that each generation might be raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
