This may be news to you--but you only care about babies up until they're born.

Abortion supporters love to throw this washed-up accusation at pro-lifers, so if it happens to you, welcome to the club.

But countless 40 Days for Life volunteers have developed long-term friendships with the mothers they empower to choose life at the vigil.

"I had a great day!" announced JC in Yuba City. "I got to hold one of my babies on the sidewalk today. Then, one of my mommies and one of my daddies joined me for a parenting class at church. Then, another came just to see me."

By the day's end, JC got to see--and hug--four babies she helped spare from abortion!

JC is now eagerly awaiting the birth of yet another baby she helped save--a child whose due date is this week!

"None of this would be possible without your faithful prayers and presence on the sidewalk," JC exhorted her volunteers. "Thank you all so much for the most valuable gift of your time and love!"

Greenland, New Hampshire

A 40 Days for Life volunteer in Greenland was approached by a group of students, one of whom asked whether the vigil participants thought abortion was a good thing or a bad thing.

"Of course I told her, 'a bad thing,'" the volunteer reported. "Then I asked her what she thought. She said she didn’t know. I responded by telling her an abortion kills an innocent human life, so that is definitely a bad thing."

The girls continued on their way after that. But vigil participants hope they planted a seed. "The girl sure asked the right person her question!" noted Debbie, the Greenland campaign leader.

El Cajon, California

It's Oktoberfest for Germans and those with German ancestry.

But the festivities aren't stopping those celebrating their German heritage from praying for an end to abortion.

"I'm betting you haven't seen this before," said Vicki in El Cajon of volunteers who joined the vigil in full German garb.

"Rosemary and David are long-time pro-life prayer warriors. Oktoberfest, where they both volunteer, wasn't going to get in their way of praying for an end to abortion."

My power is made perfect in weakness.

—2 Corinthians 12:9

Lord, during these forty days, we ask that with each day of this sacred vigil, everything in us that separates us from your perfect will would be pruned from our hearts and souls. In this blessed freedom may we experience a powerful anointing of your Holy Spirit.
