It's cold.

And it often feels a little colder while praying outside Planned Parenthood...

...but your impact is higher, as the sight of pro-life prayer warriors braving the elements to bring hope and love to their local abortion facilities inspires even more moms to choose life than during the fall campaign.

Few 40 Days for Life campaigns experience worse weather than the vigil in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Vigil participants in the Twin Cities opened the vigil in front of an empty Planned Parenthood mega-center!

"Planned Parenthood closed for fear of the weather," reported Brian Gibson, executive director of Pro-Life Action Ministries and longtime 40 Days for Life St. Paul co-leader. "First time in anyone’s memory in Minnesota."

While Planned Parenthood employees didn't show up, 40 Days for Life participants did.

"No babies killed by abortion today..." Brian continued. "...and we never call this a spring campaign."

Whether it's cold, snowing, raining, sleeting, windy, or hot, you can show your love for vulnerable moms by standing vigil at your local 40 Days for Life campaign.

Sheboygan, Wisconsin

Germaine in Sheboygan said she's enjoyed a mild winter thus far. That is, until 40 Days for Life began! "By 8:30 a.m., [the snow] started coming down," she said.

Chris drove almost an hour to take the 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. shift at the vigil. But when the snowstorm prevented the 10:00 a.m. volunteers from getting to Planned Parenthood, he stayed on for another hour.

"We Wisconsinites are a hardy bunch," Germaine said. "Despite this storm, spirits are high here, and we'll keep on keepin' on."

San Antonio, Texas

Chilly temperatures aren't just for northern climates!

Pro-life students in frigid San Antonio conducted an outreach, distributing door hangers educating community members on the local 40 Days for Life campaign as well as area pregnancy help resources.

"These volunteers braved the cold this morning and gave out hundreds of flyers," wrote the San Antonio leadership team.

Bremerton, Washington

Washington state also got hit by a snowstorm and freezing cold weather.

"Schools are closed all over the county," said Laurie, the local campaign leader. "It is bitterly cold--with [just] enough sunshine to deceive us!"

Nevertheless, vigil participants continued to come out to pray for an end to abortion.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.

--Luke 4:18-19

Lord, send us to the poorest, the most broken, the most captive, the most blind, and the most oppressed in the world, the innocent pre-born children in their mothers' wombs who are scheduled for destruction. Help us to bring them healing, liberty, sight, and justice through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
