Last chance! This weekend is the last of the Lenten 40 Days for Life campaign--and today is the busiest abortion day of the week. So go pray, fast, and save a life: 40daysforlife.com/locations

Over the last five and a half weeks, your peaceful, prayerful presence has brought hope to the most hopeless people in your community.

But not everybody is pleased to see you.

Dozens of pro-lifers showed up at the Everett, Washington, vigil for a recent 40 Days for Life event featuring former abortionist Dr. Haywood Robinson. Dozens of abortion advocates showed up too!

"About 40 abortion supporters were yelling and ringing cowbells in an attempt to shut down the event," noted Rebecca. "Planned Parenthood had several escorts outside observing, and the police showed up. It was quite a spectacle."

Even an abortion supporter who participated in the protest wrote a scathing letter to the editor complaining that his fellow abortion supporters' behavior was "appalling."

Neither pro-lifers nor Haywood were deterred.

"Dr. Robinson...declined to leave the sidewalk," Rebecca said. "With a huge smile on his face, he spoke with everyone, even those who mocked and yelled at him. ... The contrast between the peaceful pro-lifers and the animated, loud, crude abortion supporters was striking."

Haywood had good reason to smile. First, it was the 40th anniversary of his conversion!

Secondly, he received a warmer reception during a visit to nearby Edmonds College. Leaders from several area campaigns came to hear his testimony, and Haywood was also able to engage with a number of students.

Washington state is one of the most secular and abortion-friendly parts of the world. But it's also a hotbed for 40 Days for Life campaigns whose outreach efforts make sure that the killing of unborn children will never be accepted without controversy!

Bellevue, Nebraska

LeRoy Carhart was, perhaps, the world's most notorious late-term abortionist until his death two years ago. While he is gone, his abortion facility outside Omaha remains open.

Judy with the Bellevue 40 Days for Life team called an abortion-bound woman over and showed her a fetal model of an eight-week-old unborn baby.

"In Spanish, I spoke about her baby...and how I would help her," Judy said. "I told her she wasn't alone."

The mother took the fetal model from Judy and began to cry.

"Then she reached for me and gave me the biggest, strongest hug," Judy continued.

The expectant mom canceled her appointment by phone, as Judy warned her not to go inside and then directed her toward the local pregnancy help center.

"I am keeping my baby," the woman promised. "If I have a daughter, I am going to name her Judit." (Spanish for Judith.)

Funza, Colombia

As Leidy scrolled through social media, she saw a post from a young, expectant mother looking for a job.

"Leidy had a bad feeling about it and messaged her," reported 40 Days for Life director of Ibero-American campaigns Lourdes Varela.

The pregnant woman admitted she had scheduled an abortion appointment. Leidy set up a meeting with her and provided her with an opportunity to work while also staying with her children.

"After the meeting, the young woman said 'yes' to life!" Lourdes said.

Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe." Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

Dear Jesus, thank you for the ways that science helps us to better see and know your creation. Please lead every expectant mother to a place that will enable her to see her child with an ultrasound. Grant her the simplicity to see the humanity in her womb and the courage to protect it. Amen.
