Kalamazoo, Michigan
A hardy band of 40 Days for Life participants kicked off Kalamazoo's 19th 40 Days for Life campaign with what was supposed to be a candlelight vigil.
The event was wet, but Joe, who co-leads the campaign, said that's nothing new. "As has happened more times than not, the weather didn't cooperate," Joe remarked. "It was raining and cool."
What was new was that it was so wet, prayer warriors couldn't use the candles. "However, we still offered up prayers for the unborn and for ending abortion in Kalamazoo," Joe added.
Over so many campaigns, prayer warriors in Kalamazoo have built up goodwill in the community. Many motorists passing by honked their horns in support.
The Pacific Northwest
Dozens of local 40 Days for Life leaders and leadership team members from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and even Canada gathered in Seattle on Saturday for a training workshop to send them into this fall's campaign on a high note.
Attendees received comprehensive training on recruiting vigil participants, were inspired by powerful speakers, and received a legal briefing for their respective jurisdictions.
"Faaaantastic leader conference!!!" wrote Tammy, who brought a large contingent from her Tacoma 40 Days for Life campaign. "Can't thank you all enough for everything you brought to us and for the support you have provided!"

God, we ask you to be with every expectant mother. Give them the courage of Mary to say yes to your divine will, even in the most unexpected circumstances. Help us to notice women in need and embrace every mother facing an unplanned pregnancy. Amen.
