?I think that it is so great that prayer for life became a common thing in our community,? said Daria, the 40 Days for Life leader in Nasaud.

The campaign has gone very well so far, although at first it was challenging to encourage more first-time volunteers. ?But God sent new enthusiastic people, willing to pray at the vigil location for several hours every week.?

Once, a young man approached one of the volunteers and he told her his story. "My girlfriend is 19 and she is pregnant,? he said. ?Her mother is persuading her to have an abortion. But I don't want it at all.?

He made it clear he?d be willing to do almost anything to encourage her to change her mind.

?The amazing thing is his strong desire to keep the baby," the volunteer said. She considers the young man?s determination to be a fruit of all the prayers being said for an end to abortion in Nasaud.
