The president of Planned Parenthood is quitting! That's an astonishing surprise, and I'll have more to say about that later.

But first, we have great news today ? we've just announced the winner of the first-ever 40 Days for Life $4,040 college scholarship.

Meet Katie Seim, who was presented with a check for $4,040 in front of 50,000 people on Saturday at the Walk for Life West Coast in San Francisco.

Katie is a junior majoring in business administration at the University of Nebraska, where's she's one of the leaders of Huskers for Life.

It was 40 Days for Life that helped launch Katie into pro-life work. When she was in high school, she convinced her mother to take her to the vigil. A passerby hurled a rude insult at her ? but that just raised her determination and made her realize that abortion must be stopped.

We're proud of Katie and are honored to have her as our first $4,040 scholarship recipient.

And then there's Cecile Richards, the leader of Planned Parenthood, who presided over a deadly decade that included 3.5 million abortions at America's largest abortion chain.

She's leaving her post, just as the Justice Department launches an investigation into the scandal in which Planned Parenthood staffers were recorded negotiating the prices of baby body parts.

Planned Parenthood's image and brand are at an all-time low. Despite receiving more than $500 million of tax funding annually, Planned Parenthood has closed 32% of its facilities since Richards took over.

As we prepare for our largest Lenten 40 Days for Life campaign yet, it is my prayer that more and more mothers will come to see that they have much better "choices" than Planned Parenthood!
